Chapter 3 Who’s the Real Mrs. Sean?
She probably had forgotten the encounter in her youth.
Biting her lower lip, Amanda couldn’t see Iverson’s face clearly. Embarrassed, she asked, “Could you please help me find my glasses?”
Iverson did not answer for a while.
Amanda’s face was flushed at this moment, and her watery eyes were lazy and charming. Unfortunately, her eyes had lost focus, and the person she was expecting was not him.
That year, Iverson Byran was forced to go abroad. When he came back, his beloved would be Mrs. Sean.
“Fine.”
Iverson let out a meaningful chuckle, found Amanda’s glasses, and handed them over.
“Thank you.” Amanda reached out to take it. As soon as her fingers touched Iverson’s rough fingertip, she retracted hers reflexively.
“I’m sorry.”
Amanda put on her glasses, and her vision finally returned to normal.
Iverson’s face darkened slightly. He looked away and turned to walk into the hall.
Amanda stayed where she was in a daze for a moment, then followed Iverson in.
…
“Mr. Sean, you are quite amazing. You’ve managed the Sean Group to such an extent in just three years.”
“This must be Mrs. Sean. You and Mr. Sean are a perfect match.”
“That’s right. I heard that Mrs. Sean was very good at managing a company. I think you’ve helped your husband a lot.”
As soon as Amanda entered the room, she saw Halley and Olinka standing together under a lamp, like a sweet couple.
Halley was dressed in a white suit and looked gentle and handsome, while Olinka was standing beside him in a white dress. At a glance, they did look like a perfect couple.
If Halley was not Amanda’s husband.
The compliment made Halley smile broadly. Olinka gathered her hair shyly and exchanged glances with Halley.
Amanda felt a sharp pain in her heart. She picked up the glass of wine on the waiter’s table and strode over.
“Honey.”
Amanda stepped forward with a glass of wine in her hand and spoke to Halley with a gentle smile.
Seeing this, Olinka quickly let go of Halley’s arm and said coquettishly, “Amanda. You’re finally here.”
“Amanda.” Like a gentle and considerate husband, Halley Sean approached Amanda Jewell and wrapped his arms around her waist.
Amanda suppressed the contempt in her heart and looked up at Halley. “What are you talking about?”
“Ah, it’s you, Mrs. Sean. Nice to meet you.”
Those who had mistaken Olinka for Mrs. Sean also changed their attitudes. Still, they were all experienced businessmen, so they had a rough idea of what was happening.
Amanda raised her glass with a smile and called out their names accurately. “Nice to meet you, too; Mr. Willson, Mr. Calvin.”
Halley looked at Amanda tenderly and took the glass from her hand. “Amanda, don’t drink too much.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Halley’s attitude was intimate and considerate. What a rich and gentle husband.
“Mr. Sean and Mrs. Sean are so sweet.”
“We’re so envious!”
The persons next to them chimed in at the right time. Amanda glanced at Olinka, whose expression had changed secretly; a trace of coldness flashed across Amanda’s heart. So she smiled cooperatively and said, “Honey, drink it for me.”
Halley took Amanda’s glass and drank the wine in one gulp.
There was another round of heckling.
“Ouch!” Olinka, standing to one side, suddenly staggered, and the red wine in her hand spilled all over her white skirt.
“Olinka!” Halley subconsciously let go of Amanda’s hand and went forward to help Olinka.
A smug look flashed across Olinka’s face. She looked apologetically at Amanda and said, “Amanda, my dress is dirty. I’ve put another change of clothes in my brother-in-law’s car. Could I ask Halley to take me there to get my clothes?”
