Chapter 25 You Must Pay Something
Amanda was dragged off balance and fell to the ground.
A pair of leather shoes appeared in front of her. She raised her head and traced the straight suit pants to see who it was.
“Halley Sean! Are you crazy? How dare you kidnap me?”
Halley squatted in front of her and reached out to pat the dust on her shoulder.
“Don’t touch me!”
Amanda shook off his hand in disgust. “Disgusting!”
“Disgusting?” Halley stared at her coldly. “Do you think you’re clean? Do you think I don’t know why Iverson agreed to cooperate with you? You made me a cuckold, and I haven’t called you disgusting yet!”
Amanda staggered to her feet. “All right. Since we find each other so disgusting, why don’t we divorce earlier? We’ll go our separate ways and don’t provoke each other!”
“I can divorce you, but you can’t take away any of the customer resources and shares of the Sean Group!”
“Why the hell? Where is your conscience, Halley?”
“How much is the conscience worth?” A woman’s voice came from behind Halley. It was Olinka. She took her arm with a successful look on her face. “Halley, don’t be soft-hearted. If half of the stocks of the Sean Group is given to her and left, the other half will be over.”
Amanda stared at them. “What the hell do you want?”
“Nothing. I want you to sign this agreement, where you voluntarily give up all the shares of the Sean Group.”
Olinka took out a document and said, “I promise Halley that we won’t make things difficult for you as long as you sign it, right?”
Halley said, “Amanda, we’ve been married for three years, so there’s no need to fall out. I’m doing this for your good. You can’t win the lawsuit. I can give you some of my assets if you want to sign and withdraw the lawsuit. It’s enough for you to live safe and sound for the rest of your life.”
“Oops.” Amanda smiled instead of getting angry. “Then I should be grateful to you, shouldn’t I?”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
“Amanda, women can’t be too strong. That’s the best result for you.”
Olinka walked over with the document. “Sign it.”
Looking at the documents in front of her, Amanda looked around helplessly. This pair of the adulterous couple was glaring at her. She had no choice but to sign and surrender.
Olinka’s face was full of pride.
She had thought about it long ago. No matter how capable Amanda was, she was still an outsider. Moreover, Amanda thought highly of herself and disdained using many of her tricks. She couldn’t blame them for being unscrupulous.
Amanda took the document.
When Halley and Olinka thought she was about to sign, she suddenly raised her hand.
All of a sudden, the folder fell on Olinka’s face.
“Ouch!”
Olinka covered her face and looked at Amanda in disbelief. “How dare you hit me!”
Amanda threw the pen at her as well. “Everyone wants to beat up a shameless mistress like you. You don’t deserve to negotiate with me!”
Olinka was so warm that she stamped her feet and shouted, “What are you still standing there for? Hold her down!”
The chauffeur brought Amanda here and had been standing still the entire time. Seeing that Olinka was anxious, he put out his cigarette, walked over, and grabbed Amanda.
“Wait.”
The voice of Halley stopped them.
Olinka reminded him, “Halley, you know better than me what the consequences of being soft-hearted are.”
Halley’s face darkened. He turned around and walked into the woods. “Hurry up.”
Then he must avoid witnessing the scene.
After Halley left, Olinka became even more unbridled.
The driver clasped Amanda’s hand behind his back, and Olinka easily gripped her neck. The knife in Olinka’s hand flickered in the moonlight as she said, “Amanda, did you see that? Halley doesn’t care if you’re dead or alive. Do you have any other choice but to sign?”
“Or could it be that you insist on paying some price so that you know I am not toying with you?”
The cold dagger was slithering on Amanda’s cheek.
That feeling was like a snake slithering on the skin. It made Amanda’s hair stand on end.
Amanda’s face was deathly pale. “Do you know the consequences of doing this? This is illegal. You’ll go to jail, and I won’t let you off even as a ghost!”
“I only live once. Who cares what happens after I become a ghost?”
Olinka sneered, and the sharp dagger had already cut across Amanda’s cheek. “It’s all right if you don’t sign it. You know in one’s marriage, once the spouse dies, there won’t be any problem with the distribution of the remaining assets, right?”
Amanda’s heart sank.
Did Olinka want to kill her?
Before Olinka’s knife landed, Amanda suddenly changed her words. “I’ll sign it!”
Where there is life, there is hope.
Olinka seemed to have expected Amanda to change her mind. She glanced at the driver. “Let go of her.”
The files and pen fell to the floor. Amanda squatted down and picked them up. Then, in front of Olinka, she flipped to the last page and signed her name.
“Amanda. A wise man submits to the circumstances.” Olinka smiled, but her eyes were malicious. “But we haven’t settled our score yet!”
Before Amanda could react, the driver caught her again.
Olinka took out the knife and gestured to Amanda. “You humiliated me in front of so many people. If I don’t get even with you, I won’t be able to sleep tonight.”
“Amanda, you’re so pretty. Do you want to taste what it feels like to be too ashamed to be seen?”
Olinka’s negative tone was like a snake flicking its tongue. Every word echoed in Amanda’s eardrums.
“No! Let me go!”
Amanda struggled to retreat with all her might. She screamed, but the burly man who was driving pressed her down on the front of the car and roughly broke her neck, revealing half of her delicate face in the darkness.
With a flash of cold light, the dagger quickly slashed out.
“Ouch!”
The scream resounded through the whole night.
When Halley rushed out of the woods, it was too late.
With the loud braking sound, several glaring lights hit the backs of the four people, making them couldn’t help but raise their arms to cover their eyes.
The sound of car doors opening and closing rose and fell, and hurried footsteps echoed on the hillside.
“Don’t move!”
“Put your things down!”
Amanda only heard the woman’s shrill scream, and the man’s begging was like the sound of a nightmare lingering in her ears for a long time.
It was not until the warm coat wrapped around her shoulders that she was picked up horizontally. Her limbs gradually warmed up, and she saw the person who had saved her.
Iverson did not look at her. At this moment, his expression was terrifying. Even though he was usually expressionless, he was not as scary as now. His dark eyes were like frozen rivers of ice, making people dare not look straight at him.
