Chapter 2 Return
Chapter 2 Return
“Oh Emily!”
Dorothy, who had been silent and calm from the beginning, said softly, “I know that you were not
satisfied with your father’s favoring Louisa over you, but you were too cruel! To stop your father from
letting your half-sister marry into the Clark family, you not only poisoned him but also slept with your
sister’s fiancé!”
Dorothy’s words were like bolts from the blue to Emily. She could never imagine that a woman who had
slept in the same bed with her father for more than two decades would poison her father only to fulfill
her selfish desire. And Dorothy would set the whole thing upon her.
The group of journalists was so excited that the room was filled with the clicking sound of their
cameras. Sebastian looked furious and shouted with his back to the crowd, “Get the hell out of here!”
Because of the power behind the Clark family, the angry Sebastian Clark might turn the entire C City
upside down. The journalists certainly could not afford to offend him, so they quickly dispersed one
after another. There were only several policemen waiting outside the door.
Louisa was crying her eyes out. She stepped forward to get close to Sebastian, “Sebastian...”
“I will see you and Mrs. Morris later.” Sebastian did not even look at her.
Louisa glanced at Emily and Sebastian. Because of Sebastian, she did not dare to do anything else but
gnashed her teeth in hatred. She walked out to the door but couldn’t help turning to look back
repeatedly at every three steps.
When Emily noticed that Sebastian would have a cigarette, she reached out and lit it up for him. She
asked, “Is there anything else that Mr. Clark wants to talk about with me?”
Sebastian took a light breath and spat out the smoke, “As long as you beg me, the police interrogation
will be a mere formality.”
There was no such thing as a free lunch. Emily knows this as a child, and he would not help her without
asking anything back. Sebastian is charming but also cruel. His slender eyes, especially, always
revealed a chill of coldness. He is cold and ruthless. Emily would not expect a man like him to help her.
She said, “Mr. Clark, it's not necessary."
Emily opened the door, and the police were waiting outside. She reached out her hands so that the Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
cold handcuffs clicked and fell on her skinny wrists in a weird and dazzling picture. Emily turned back
and gave Sebastian a romantic smile.
Outside the door, Louisa’s tears were still hanging on her face, and her eyes were filled with endless
resentments when she saw Emily.
Emily was pushed by the police to walk out of the hotel. When she passed by Louisa, she heard this
vicious sound, “Emily, you may as well know this. Your ex-boyfriend Ewan Burke, who just broke up
with you less than two months ago, has been cheating on you with your best friend Sabrina Rogers for
a year!”
Two years later, the audition hall at Dier was full of people waiting for casting interviews. Some of them
were young, great looking and exceptionally well dressed; others looked confident with their
outstanding CV.
Emily, who stood at the end of the line, was probably one of the most ordinary. She just got out of
prison weeks ago. Emily chose Dier because as a new company that had just gone public Dier was
tolerant and relatively open regarding workplace rules. Most importantly, an old friend of her father
strongly recommended this company.
Emily did not expect to meet Sabrina here. She made her hair into big, loose curls and wore delicate
makeup on her face. She was standing at the door to make a phone call, “Darling, you have to take me
to Bali if I got the job! The interview is coming soon, wait for my good news! Love you, Ewan!”
Sabrina hung up the phone and met Emily’s eyes. Her face immediately changed, and after three or
four seconds she said, “Emily, when did you come back? Why didn't you tell us so we could—”
Looking at Sabrina’s face, Emily could not help thinking about the dirty affairs this woman had with
Ewan Burke behind her back. A slap was drawn directly on Sabrina’s face before she finished her
sentence.
