What was Millie trying to say?

Knowing she had piqued Winston's interest, Millie decided this was the night to tie up loose ends, as they would go their separate ways after tonight.

Pursing her lips, she went up to him and stared into his eyes. With a serious face, she began, "Back when you were-achoo!"

She sneezed without warning just when the words were about to come out. She sniffled and rubbed her arm. It wasn't this cold earlier.

"Are you cold?" While asking, he took off his jacket.

She shook her head and stopped him. No. She did not feel cold at all.

Millie was ready to resume the conversation when she heard someone tutting. The random person jeered, "How could you keep the jacket after she stopped you? As a man, you can't be that dull!"

The remark, loaded with mockery, attracted the attention of Millie and Winston. They looked to the side and spotted a familiar guy on a bench. He was no other than Kennedy. "Kennedy, why are you here?" Millie looked surprised.

"I followed you here. I am worried about you going home alone," he replied flippantly and crossed his

arms.

Winston frowned at him. Since when was Millie close with Kennedy? Did they start dating recently? "This is nothing. I always went home after midnight in the past." She checked the time on her phone. Winston shot her a forlorn look. This felt like she was confiding her grievances in another man in front of

her ex-husband.

It wasn't like he was responsible for her decision to go home alone late at night.

"Yeah. I bet that happened because you were in a paper marriage." Kennedy went up to them with a grin.

Winston could tell by now that Kennedy was picking on him from that sarcastic tone.

"You have no right to judge our marriage." Winston straightened his shirt with a flat expression and an icy attitude. Kennedy smiled. "I'm not the only one who's judging your marriage now."

"Indeed, but you are wrong to say it to my face," Winston retorted. He stared right at Kennedy with a threatening look.

Kennedy was about to speak when Winston cut him off coldly. "By the way, I have bad news for you."

Kennedy frowned.

Winston revealed, "Your order has been rejected, while mine has been delivered."

Kennedy immediately looked ruffled upon learning the truth. At the same time, Millie inferred from their

conn that the two men had a

history. Content belongs toNôvelDrama.Org content.

"That's despicable of you," Kennedy hissed through gritted teeth.

Winston smiled and brushed it off. "Yeah, I guess."

It was only normal for a businessman to pull some underhanded moves to survive in the dog-eat-dog world.

Winston slowly rose from his seat and went up to dust Kennedy's shoulder with a look of contempt that was too humiliating for Kennedy to bear.

He warned Kennedy coolly, "You gotta listen to me if you want to do business in Yerwick."

He would never allow Kennedy to

threaten and control him. He wouldn't mind if Kennedy wanted to give him trouble, as he'd like to see which one of them would be defeated. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

"Mr. Greer, you certainly place your career above everything else. Do you care about no one or nothing?” Kennedy removed Winston's hand from his shoulder and challenged him. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
