She's out of Your League Now (Millie and Winston)

League 405

League 405

Joanna couldn’t help but glance at Winston, swallowing the words on the tip of her tongue.

Having already put on her sunglasses and bid Leah goodbye, Millie cast one last look at the couple after hearing Winston’s response.

Despite Joanna’s firm belief in their love, she wasn’t as happy as she had hoped. Winston seemed less caring toward her than he had been in the past.

After Millie left, Winston and Joanna followed suit. When they came out of the store, Joanna stood by the car. Winston was puzzled as to why she wasn’t getting in.

*Joanna?” he called.

Joanna, gripping the car door handle, fixed her gaze on Winston. Her eyes were filled with confusion as she asked, “Win, tell me the truth. Do you have feelings for me or not?”

“Not again, Joanna.” Winston found it frustrating that she kept asking the same question and always brought up how she had once saved him.

Joanna pressed further, “Why didn’t you ask them to send my gown along with yours? I could just come by your place, and then we could leave together, right?”

A hint of displeasure crossed her face as she added, “Was it because Millie was there?”

Winston’s gaze darkened. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his irritation evident. “Joanna, this has nothing to do with Millie.”

Joanna bit her lip. She was still convinced that Millie was connected to the situation.

ST HONDE

“That’s enough. Get in the car.” Winston was not interested in arguing further. “I’ll text Leah to send your gown with mine. Will that work?”

Seeing him relent, Joanna quickly got into the car. Winston was a man of principles, after all. His willingness to compromise was a significant concession, and she knew better than to push him further.

“Win, I knew you loved me!” Joanna exclaimed. She immediately wrapped her arms around Winston and grinned.

However, Winston instinctively pushed her hand away. “I’m driving. Don’t hug me.”

Yet, Joanna didn’t mind. Her face lit up with joy as she remarked, “I’m really looking forward to the cruise party! I heard this year’s event will be different from the previous ones.

“It’s a six–deck cruise ship that will drift to the center of the Luna Sea! We’ll stay out there all night and won’t return until noon the next day!”

Winston glanced at her but felt no excitement. Such events were nothing more than social gatherings. He wasn’t interested in meeting a bunch of spoiled scions. To him, it was boring and meaningless.

“Win, do you know Luna Sea? It’s two shades of pink and is incredibly stunning,” Joanna commented with a smile.

Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. “Aren’t you afraid of the sea?”

Joanna paused. Afraid of the sea? She had never been afraid of it!

But then it struck her. After Millie had saved Winston years ago, she developed a fear of drowning. That was why Joanna had said she was afraid of it too.

“It’s something I have to overcome, right? Besides, we’ll be on a ship, not in the water. I’m also curious to see if I’m really afraid. I haven’t been on a ship in years.”

A hat of sadness apprated in Joanna’s eyes as she spoke

On the other hand, Winston fell silent

Joanna then asked, “Win, if I’m afraid of ships and the sea, would you

think I’m weird?” This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Winston took her hand and replied, “You’re like this because of me, so no, i wouldn’t think that way.”

Feeling the warmth of his palm, Joanna felt a sense of security. Her past act of saving Winston meant he would always give in to her. Hence, she was determined to ensure Millie was gone for good.

She was set on using the cruise party as an opportunity to eliminate

Millie.

Suddenly, Joanna tilted her head and asked, “By the way, Win, I heard you brought a rare herb to Musbane?”

Winston nodded. “I was going to give it to William, but since our deal fell through, I brought it back.”

“Could you give me that herb, Win?” Joanna asked, propping her face on

her hands.
