Their car stopped in front of the door to the emergency ward.

Millie helped Winston onto the bed and turned to leave. However, he held onto her fingers with no signs of letting go.

She frowned and tried to pry his fingers open, only to realize that he was gripping her tightly. Millie. could only sigh and resign herself to accompany him.

“Doctor, how is he?” she asked the doctor on duty.

The doctor gave a short explanation, “He’s alright. He just needs to finish the drip. He’ll be fine as long

as his stomach isn’t further stimulated.”

As she looked at the man on the bed, disdain flashed across her eyes.

She patted Winston’s arm and complained softly, “You’ve never been able to take care of yourself when we were in high school. You’re already in your 20s, yet you still act the same. You keep making other people worry about you!”

However, Millie sighed when she saw Winston’s pale face. Her eyes were filled with concern.

Millie reclined by his bed. She crossed her arms and stared intently at Winston’s face. She would never get another chance to keep Winston company like this.

When she thought of that, Millie couldn’t help but smile. She said, “Winston, I’m a good ex–wife, right?”

She was being a good Samaritan by sending her ex–husband to the hospital in the middle of the night,

right?

The nurse came over to give Winston an injection

Millie stood at the edge of the bed and looked on, Suddenly, her phone rang. Eli was calling.

“Mrs. Greer, I’ve got something to do in the office, I’ll be leaving first.”

Milile frowned and said, “Ell, you…”

Millie opened her mouth when Eli hung up on her. She looked at Winston. A little voice in her began to complain.

Fuck!

What was all this?

The nurse went

Out after fixing his drip. Millie could only pull a chair over and sat down.

She put her face in her hands and looked at him in frustration. As she rested her head on the bed, her expression was melancholic.

When she felt his hand move, Millie looked up. Winston had woken up.

When their eyes met, it was rather awkward.

Millie was silent. He should be fine, right?

Did that mean she could go?

She coughed gently and pointed at his stomach. She explained, “Your gastric problems flared up. The doctor said that it’s not a problem. You’ll be right as rain after the drip.

Winston stared at Millie. His throat tightened, and he couldn’t say a word.

Millie pursed her lips as she looked at him. She said, “Don’t drink so much alcohol in the future.”

Winston was silent.

“If you need nothing else, I’ll go first.” Millie took her bag and got up to leave.

He took Millie’s hand out of reflex.

She turned to look at him, her eyelashes trembling.

He furrowed his brow, breathing heavily. His voice was hoarse as he complained, “It hurts.”

His voice wasn’t loud, but Millie heard him clearly.

She leaned down and pressed around his stomach. She asked, “Where does it hurt?”

She studied medicine, so she knew a little about it.

In the past, when Winston was sent back to the villa, Millie was the one who relieved his stomachache. Winston felt weak. Staring at Millie’s face, his voice was low as he said, “Everywhere hurts.

Millie moved to get up. She said, “I’ll call a doctor

He held her hand tightly and wouldn’t let go. His eyes were red–rimmed, and the smell of alcohol still wafted around him. He was slightly drunk.

When she tried to leave, she was pulled into his embrace.

Milile fell into his arms. His heart pounded in her ear, and her heart sank.

She heard his voice whisper gently, “Don’t go ”

Millie looked up, bitterness welling up in her heart NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

Had he mistaken her for Joanna?

Millie looked down at him and said softly, “Winston, you’re drunk. I’m not Joanna.”
