Chapter 193
Chapter 193
Susan was so angry that she laughed. “Do you think she is playing triks on you? Is there something
wrong with your brain? Have you forgotten how you beat her? How your fiancee and your cousin
bullied her? She was already in the last stage of heart failure and you slammed a nail into the back of
her head. Do you think she could have survived that?”
Susan almost bellowed. In the end, she suddenly broke down in tears. When she thought about how
Scarlett had been so cruelly beaten before she left this world, she was in unbearable agony “Sebastian
Jackman, how could you be so heartless? Before Scarlett passed away, she even wrote a will for
you…”
The angry and resentful cries on the other side of the line made Sebastian’s heart tighten
uncontrollably
He tried to rem in his emotions, yet found it harder than usual to do so.
The more he tried to control them, the more panic he felt in his heart until he eventually stopped caring
about the rampant feelings.
He clenched his phone and asked coldly. “What’s with the nail in the back of her head?” From NôvelDrama.Org.
Susan thought he was too cowardly to accept responsibility. She clenched her jaw and exclaimed
angrily, “Dr. Lanny found a nail in Scarlett’s skull when she arrived. If it hadn’t been there, she could
have moved and wouldn’t have bled out and the heart failure wouldn’t have worsened. You Jackmans
are pretending to be blameless, but Scarlett didn’t deserve any of this!”
After roaring in one breath, Susan hung up the phone and blocked Sebastian right away.
Sebastian looked at the dark screen in a daze. After a few minutes of silence….
The tall, straight figure standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window suddenly trembled, unable to hold
himself up any longer and collapsing limply.
Holding the glass in one hand, he steadied himself, yet all he could envision was Scarlett lying on the
ground.
It turned out that she was lying motionless on the ground, not because she was disappointed in him,
but because she was slapped on the nail and could not move.
Upon thinking of her, alone and in despair in the bathroom, Sebastian’s heart tightened involuntarily.
The swiftness with which guilt engulfed him was like a toxic vine, strangling him and leaving him
gasping for air.
