“I got to go,” WanKe stops before he could keep a step forward when Feng Lei holds his hand, turning around he faces him.
“What do you mean?,” Feng Lei asks his voice sounding stern.
“I need to go,” he wriggles his hand to loosen the grip which cannot be pulled of.

“Feng Lei,” he stops his actions of removing his hand and looks at him “I wish I could explain but I have to go,” he explains pulling his hand off his grip vigorously.
“Wasn’t it your brother’s dream,” Feng Lei grunts loosing his patience he holds his hand again worrying about what WanKe is going to do. He doesn’t want him to regret his move at this moment as he has been living a complicated life all this while just for this moment “What is more important than your dream?,” He questions his eyes digging into him.
“You don’t know what’s important to me,” WanKe pushes his hand off.
“Won’t you regret?,”
“I won’t,”
“I just want to protect you,” he holds his shoulders stepping close to him, his eyes never leaving from him.
“The exam will begin very soon you better go back,” Wanke shoves off, keeping a step behind he moves his body from his hold “I know to protect myself,” he runs to the gate his mind clouded in the thoughts of his mother and her words.
He is sure that what’s written in the letter is true as he had find out something fishy making him doubt that it’s someone in the Wen Kingdom but didn’t expect it to be his father. He wanted to save his father from them but little did he know that they are ruled by him. In the house of Yi Han that night he saw the face of a guard in the kingdom and at the scene when WanKe and HenYu were attacked he saw the other two men wearing the guard suit of the Wen Kingdom.
“What’s the matter?,” Wales asks while holding WanKe who is riding the horse fast.
“Mom is in danger,” he answers in distress, his mind praying god that she is fine, her words repeats in his head ‘No matter where mother is you will always have my blessings and love’
“How can aunt be in danger when she is in the mansion,” Wales asks not understanding the situation, he places his hand on WanKe’s shoulder when he remains silent “She will be fine,” he comforts him even though he is clueless about it.
Getting down from the horse back he runs into the mansion, ignoring the guards by the gate who are following him inside telling him that he is not allowed in, WanKe walks through the yard to the main hall.
“Maaa,” he calls out aloud turning to his left and right looking for her when a group of guards come rushing to the yard. They march forward standing in front of WanKe pushing him behind when he keeps a step forward.
“Maaaa,” he shouts over the sound of their footsteps and the clashing sound of their steel weapons brushing against each other “Let me in,” he growls trying to push them away but fails as they are in more number.
“Where is mother?,” Wanke roars when Lord Wen strolls out the main hall standing opposite to him where the fifteen guards are in between them as a wall.
“You can come back to see her after you write the exam,” Lord Wen demands a dirty smile playing on his lips.
“I will not go back until I see her,” he tries to pass through the crowd but couldn’t as they keep pushing him behind.
“Don’t be a stubborn brat,” Lord Wen snorts “Go back now,” he shouts pointing at the gate.
“Let me see mom for once and I’ll do whatever you tell me,” he requests stopping his actions not having the energy to fight back as all he needs now is to see her at any cause.
“The exam has almost begun go back and come back to see your mom,”
“I will not,” he grunts pushing the guards forward he tries go to the left but they block him from his sides beginning to circle around him. One of them places his palm on his chest and pushes him making WanKe to tumble back, he gets back straight his blood boiling in anger, forming his hand to a ball he stands straight blowing a punch on his nose causing his eyes to water.
The sound of the swords drawing the edges of the metal scabbard gets into his ears making him to be alert, WanKe turns around, his fingers wrapping around the hilt of the sword at the side of the hip of a guard. Wales rushes into the group fighting the ones coming on his way he takes a sword from one of them and joins WanKe.
WanKe steps forward as he drew it, cutting upwards at the person in front of him in a fast reflexive attack taking him off guard by the unnatural speed of the attack. Some of the guards step behind to spread as WanKe spins his sword cutting through the air. Wales protects him in the back even though that he is standing against his master right now he did not hesitate to stand up for his sister while he has no idea of what’s going on here.
WanKe scrambles back when three swords come together aiming at him, taking their action of drawing their weapons back as an advantage he stands straight in a flash cutting against their skin by drawing the sword in a line on their stomachs. The surrounding fills up with the sound of multiple silver blades clanging while Lord Wen stands on his spot watching them, he lets out a sigh realising that most of his guards are laying on the floor.
He walks down to the yard from the main hall entrance, picking a sword on the ground he walks into the scene, standing behind WanKe he holds his shoulder and turns him around swiftly making his moves before WanKe could register what’s happening he feels the sharp blade making it’s way from his left shoulder to centre of his chest the hot blood spreads over his light blue hanfu. He draws his sword forward to attack, his body becoming weak as the deep cut begins to sting.
Wales turns around when he hears the soft scream which escaped from Wanke’s lips, taking his distraction as an advantage they attack him from behind making him to fall on his knees, he tries to stand up again struggling in their grip but they hold him by his arms making him unable to move, the cut at the back of his body didn’t make him flinch yet his eyes began to fill up in the sight of WanKe who is bleeding after all he is just a little girl.
WanKe’s sword stops midway missing the aim when he feels a sharp pain shoot through his hand when the cold blade cuts across his left shoulder again making it’s way on the already cut skin. He holds his pain in not willing to show that he is weak, holding the sword vertically where the sharp point digs into the sand between the stones on the ground he grips it hard to keep himself steady.
“Let her go,” Wales screams making Lord Wen to let out a nasty laugh “Don’t you work for me,” he roars , pulling out the dagger scabbard from his inner dress pocket “You caused this,” he swifts his hand up hitting hard on WanKe’s head with the scabbard making him to fall on the stones instantly darkness overtaking him slowly.
