Shattered Longings 100
Chapter 100 Coincidental
Felix took the cake knife and cut the cake into four slices. “I’m paying for dinner tonight. Think of it as my birthday gift to you. I’ve already booked a table at The Vista.”
The Vista was the fanciest restaurant in town.
Bella thought for a moment and said, “I don’t know. It’s my birthday, so I should be paying. But since you’ve already made the reservation, let’s go.”
Lia’s eyes widened with excitement. “I’m really looking forward to trying the food at The Vista. I’ve heard it’s amazing.”
After a quick slice of cake, the group headed to The Vista in Felix’s car.
Felix looked a bit sorry and said, “I tried to get a private room, but they were all booked. I only managed to get a table by the window. It might not be super private, but the view is great.”
In a restaurant like this, whether in a private room or the main area, it was usually quiet. People who liked private rooms often valued having their own space.
After they sat down, Bella handed the menu to her friends and said, “Order whatever you like. Don’t worry about the price. I don’t have any expensive taste, so a single meal is no big deal.”
Lia looked at the menu and said quietly, “Wow, this is really pricey… One dish here could cover a whole meal at a cheaper place. I’ll just get one dish.” This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
The waiter’s face showed a bit of irritation.
Felix noticed and frowned. He took the menu from Lia and ordered the dishes she hesitated over. “Done.”
Lia didn’t argue. With Felix handling the ordering, she stayed quiet.
Bella knew Felix didn’t want her to pay, so she planned to sneak off later and pay the bill herself.
Lia quickly forgot about the expensive menu and started looking around. She stopped and said, “Hey, isn’t that the guy we saw at Dominic’s house? The really handsome one?”
Bella looked where Lia was pointing and saw Leonard.
Leonard was sitting alone at his table, messing with his phone and checking his watch now and then. It was like he was waiting for someone.
Bella started to worry. Was Leonard waiting for Dominic? It seemed like too much of a coincidence.
Her worry was confirmed when Dominic and Amber walked in about 20 minutes later, looking like the perfect couple.
Bella had a clear view
of
e entrance from where she sat, and seeing Amber’s hand resting on Dominic’s arm made her heart ache.
Lia kept eating happily, but Bella lost all interest in her food.
Felix noticed Dominic and quietly said picked this place without checking with you. It’s a bit awkward with them here.”
Bella forced a smile. “It’s okay. The food is
good.
Lia looked up, confused. “What’s going on?”
”
Bella didn’t want to explain, so Felix pointed to Leonard and Dominic’s table.
Lia’s face fell. “Oh great. We came here to celebrate your birthday, and now we have to deal with them?”
