Say You Will Be Mine

Chapter 18 How Dare You

Chapter 18 How Dare You

Samuel's footsteps stopped. He wanted to hold up Rebecca, but Matilda was a step forward.

Carrying a big belly, she could not bend down. Samuel was upset about that, pulled her away and

picked up Rebecca.

“I take her to the doctor.”

Hearing that, Matilda reflexively stopped in front of Samuel and said.

“No, she is just in bad health, give her to me.”

Samuel looked at her for a long time with complex eyes and then sneered, “Samuel would not be so

mean to do dirty trick to a child.”

Matilda insisted him to give her Rebecca. Samuel had to put Rebecca on the bed of the bedroom.

After Samuel left, Matilda secretly made a call to Aaron and her voice sounded shaking.

“Aaron, can you do me a favor?”

For the first time in seven months, Matilda called him for his help. Aaron did not complain and agreed

before Matilda had said what it was.

In the study Samuel was fidgety. Rebecca’s face came to her mind, an unprecedented panic seized his

heart, letting him out of breath.

He unbuttoned the first sleeve of his shirt and opened the study door just in time to see Matilda come

out of the bedroom.

As if suddenly reassured, he raised his jaw and said resignedly, “Go cook. I would like to have fried

steak.”

But this time Matilda did not promise him. Instead, holding her belly, she walked past him and said

lightly, “No.”

“What did you say?” He asked, squinting his eyes as he took Matilda's hand.

Matilda tried to shake his hand away. Then she raised her eyes and said calmly, “Cook if you want to

eat. I'm only responsible for giving birth to your child.”

Samuel was angry and said in a deep voice, “Matilda, don't think you can be arrogant because I defend

you once.”

Matilda answered quietly, “I don’t. I'm in poor health, and I'm struggling to take care of Rebecca, unless

you find someone to take care of Rebecca for me.”

Samuel scoffed, “How do I not know you have so many problems?”

Matilda's heart was sour and bitter, but she had to raise her head and ask Samuel, “Please ask Aaron

to take care of me.”

Silence.

There was a long silence.

After a long time, when Matilda thought Samuel was going to kill her, Samuel slowly let go of her hand

and said in a terrible low voice, “Matilda, how dare you?”

Matilda's heart trembled, but she looked at him without fear and said, “I want Aaron to take care of me.”

Samuel's fingers trembled. He resisted the impulse to lock Matilda up and said coldly, “It's impossible.

Even if I die, I won’t let Aaron set foot in my house.”

Matilda showed a bright smile. Samuel was confused about her smile and faintly had a bad

presentment.

“Matilda, what are you doing?”

The moment he blurted out the words, Matilda pulled out a bloody pair of scissors from behind and

stabbed it toward her belly.

When the scissors failed to penetrate her body as desired, she opened her eyes shiveringly. Samuel's

palm grasped the sharp part of the scissors and stopped a centimeter away from her belly. The blood

trickled down to her feet.

Her heart trembled, but her hand pushed harder and harder, trying to drive the scissors in.

“That's enough!” Samuel shouted angrily, pulled out the pair of scissors and threw it far away. He

slapped Matilda in the face.

The bloody palm print appeared on Matilda's beautiful face. She was worried that she would get a

nosebleed at this moment. She turned her head away so that Samuel would not find out her disease.

Samuel thought she was so disgusted with him that she did not even want to look at him. He trembled

all over and questioned Matilda.

“Matilda, what have I done to you that you humiliate me with such a thing?”

“In the years we were together, I don't think I did anything wrong to you, and you left me without a word

to go off with a man and have a child with him. Have you thought how I felt?”

“And now you want to bring him home, so that you can be with him together with your child? Every

man's heart is flesh, and if you ever think of me you will not --”

He turned his head, but could not go on.

Matilda was upset and a burst of guilt welled up in mind. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

She was sorry, she was Matilda of time.

She would rather that he hated her than that he spend his life alone through the long years.

Samuel was so good that he deserved more and better women to love him.

Blocking down the anger that rose in her, she turned away and said coolly, “You can't stop me. If I fail

today, I will do it again tomorrow, unless you tie me up, and the child in my belly will starve to death.”

Samuel’s body violently trembled. After a long time, he grabbed her jaw, ruthlessly stared at her, and

said word by word, “I won’t agree. Even if you die, you have to die in my territory!”

Matilda closed her eyes and a clear tear ran down her cheek.

Samuel was stunned, gently wiped her tears with thumb, and held her into arms, “Give birth to the

child, we may --”

At this point, he did not continue, but patted Matilda on the shoulder.

Wait until the child is born.

However, he was not destined to wait for the child.

When he returned home the next day, Matilda collapsed in the living room, clutching a bottle of

sleeping pills.

“Matilda!”

Samuel's head had a blow. With his body shaking, he picked up her thin body, rushed to the hospital.

“Miss Matilda has already woken up. The dose of sleeping pills is not large, and it was found in time.

There is no serious harm to the child.” Said the doctor. After hesitating for a moment and thinking that

woman beg him with tearful eyes, he was upset.

But in the end he only sighed silently, and did not speak of her fatal illness.

He just patted Samuel's shoulder and said earnestly, “Spend more time with her.

Samuel didn't seem to hear him. He just went straight into the ward and saw Matilda sitting up with

effort. Her face was still pale.

Her first words when she saw Samuel were, “I want to see Aaron.”
