Salute To The General

Chapter 3228 Shadow Widow

The lady at the counter quickly left and returned shortly after with a tall, beautiful woman who seemed to be in her thirties or forties.

That woman was dressed in a black gown and looked incredibly alluring with her rosy red lips.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Despite how attractive the woman looked, everyone at the scene seemed a little scared of her.

As it turned out, she was the owner of Nightfire Underground City.

No one knew her real name. Everyone only knew her by her nickname "Shadow Widow."

Being female didn't make her any weaker than most of the men out there, though.

She used to be a Goddess of Warrior in her home country before it was destroyed by the blood virus. After that, she went underground and continued leading her people in the battle against the vampires.

With her only hope being to someday rebuild her home country, she established Nightfire Underground City and used it as her base camp.

She deliberately allowed bounty hunters, mercenaries, and travelers into Nightfire Underground City so they could rest and resupply. She even provided them with food, drinks, entertainment, and cash rewards in exchange for the resources they gathered. She did all of that in order to unite the people so that they would team up against the vampires.

On top of that, it allowed her to make money and strengthen her private military force. This was her main way of combating the vampires and rebuilding the country's economy.

Shadow Widow soon arrived at the hall with a bunch of her subordinates following closely behind.

Her gaze immediately fell upon Nathan the moment she saw his group.

Although Nathan had on a combat mask and was dressed in combat gear, she found herself stunned by his amazing figure and masculine facial features.

My goodness... What a handsome Aplothian man!

Without waiting for the lady at the counter to introduce her, she walked right up to Nathan and asked with a polite bow, "Are you the powerful newcomer that my subordinate was telling me about?"

"I wouldn't call myself powerful. I just pack a bit of a punch, that's all. And you are?" Nathan replied calmly.

He slayed a vampire marquis, and yet, he says he isn't powerful? If he isn't powerful, then what does that make me?

On the side, Massimo's face burned bright red from shame once again.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Shadow Widow, the owner of this establishment. How may I address you, sir?" Shadow Widow said.

"My last name is Cross," Nathan replied without saying any further.

Shadow Widow knew that Nathan didn't want to disclose his identity, so she decided not to press him for an answer.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Cross. The vampire cores you have presented us with are worth over five million. Unfortunately, we are not able to afford such a huge sum. Four million is the most that I can pay you. If you are not satisfied with this amount, you may choose to take the cores to the Curia's headquarters instead. They will be able to pay you a lot more."

Nathan couldn't care less about the money.

He wanted the reward because Blossom, who was a retired conscript for the Eurasian military, needed a huge sum of money for her mother's medical bills.

Since Nathan had decided to help Blossom out, he told Shadow Widow, "Four million it is, then. Please transfer the money over to Blossom Helsing's bank account. Thanks."

"I can't hold on to that much cash for you, Mr. Cross!" Blossom exclaimed.

"You're not holding on to it for me. It's for the medical bills. Think of it as me doing you a favor," Nathan replied calmly.

Blossom was stunned for a brief moment before breaking down in tears. She then dropped to her knees and said, "Thank you very much, Mr. Cross! I will repay the favor by any means necessary!"

"Any means necessary, huh?" Nathan asked with a chuckle.

Thinking that Nathan was dropping hints at wanting sexual favors, Blossom burned bright red as she replied, "I'm willing to do anything for you, Mr. Cross..."

It simply couldn't be helped.

Nathan's strapping figure, handsome face, and remarkable power made him a ridiculously charming man.

Being an ordinary girl, Blossom couldn't withstand Nathan's charms and ended up falling for him.

Nathan was shocked when he

realized she took his joke seriously. "Whoa, whoa, whoa... I was just kidding! Kused to command an army myself, so seeing you reminded me of those retired soldiers. That's why I decided to help you out. You don't need to repay the favor!"

For some reason, Blossom felt a little disappointed when he turned her offer down.
