Max gave a faint smile and put away his arrogant demeanor.

He did not dare behave that way with Lyanna, the Patriarch's servant and his representative.

The vampires would not tolerate him if he offended the Patriarch.

Lyanna met Max's eyes and said, "The Patriarch appreciates your drive and is also very interested in your vision of the new world where vampires rule.
