Chapter 2686
Meanwhile, Nathan had received a call from Hansel while working in the White House.
"Mr. Windsor? What a pleasant surprise! It's been a long time since we last spoke on the phone," Nathan greeted him.
"I suppose old people like me tend to miss you young ones when we have too much time on our hands," Hansel said with a chuckle.
"How about I come and join you for dinner tonight?" Nathan asked.
"Haha! That won't be necessary, but I am getting a little bored from sitting around at home all day. I was thinking of going out for a bit tomorrow. Will you go on a day trip to Drakontos Mountain with me?" Hansel said.
Nathan paused and frowned upon hearing that.
Huh? I've got a ton of stuff to do every single day! Why would Mr. Windsor suddenly want me to go to Drakontos Mountain with him? Is he really that lonely because he has no children of his own?
Despite being incredibly busy with his work, Nathan accepted Hansel's invitation readily. "Sure thing. I'll arrange for a car to pick us up tomorrow." "No need to trouble yourself, Nathan. I've already taken care of the transportation arrangements," Hansel replied with a chuckle.
“Okay,” Nathan said after a brief pause.
Without giving it much thought, he simply shook his head and smiled after hanging up the phone.
Little did he know, Hansel actually knew how busy he was and had invited him over to Drakontos
Mountain for some other purpose. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
Being a simple and straightforward man, Nathan never tried to win voters over through political campaigns even as the day of the election grew closer.
He was so relaxed about it that even Hansel couldn't stand it anymore.
He knew that Nathan wouldn't blow his own trumpet like most other politicians in order to gain support, but the Drakontos Party tomorrow was simply far too important to miss out on.
All the prominent figures of
Brimmopolis' upper-class society would be there, so it would be inappropriate for Nathan not to show up.
Fearing that they might feel disrespected if Nathan didn't attend the party, Hansel decided to take him there himself.
Honestly, the things I do for my favorite student...
Hansel had just gotten off the phone when Camilla came over and asked, "Did Nathan agree to go with you?"
"Yes, he did," Hansel replied with a smile.
"Why didn't you just tell him that you're taking him to the Drakontos Party? Why beat around the bush like that?" Camilla asked.
Hansel let out a wry chuckle as he
replied, "You know how Nathan is. He's the type who believes in hard work. He doesn't like attending social events like these. He might cialeve not agree to go with me if I teft him the truth, so I had to trick him into going."
Camilla laughed. "You're always worrying yourself to death for this kid!"
"He's more than just a student to me. I actually see him as my own son,"
Hansel said calmly.
Camilla gave him a gentle hug. "I believe you. I also believe that Nathan sees you as a father figure deep down inside." Hansel simply smiled at her without saying anything.
"Oh, by the way... I heard that Nelson has returned and that he will show up at the Drakontos Party tomorrow.
He's your old enemy, Hansel. Are you sure it's a good idea for you two to meet at the party tomorrow?"
Hansel's face was instantly filled
with disdain at the mention of Nelson. "Hmph! I never saw any worth in that guy back then. You'd think that he'd have improved a lot after living abroad for so long, but that's clearly not the case! Not only did he show no improvements whatsoever, but he even got a lot worse than before! The fact that he came back acting like he's the new president without even knowing the situation here just proves my point even further! Don't worry; he won't be able to cause any trouble with Nathan around. If anything, he'll just end up screwing himself over!"
Although Camilla had faith in
Nathan's capabilities, she couldn't help but remind Hansel, "Still, do be
careful. Nelson wouldn't have come
ba boldly without some sort of
plan."
"I'll see what tricks he has up his sleeve tomorrow," Hansel replied calmly.
