Salute To The General

Chapter 2636

Colin took out a pack of cigarettes, then lit one with a click of his lighter.

He took a drag of smoke and uttered, "So you're not going to talk? Maybe you don't know this, but what I'm best at is interrogation. In my many years in the North Army, few could keep their secrets to themselves after ending up in my hands."

The colors drained out of Odert's face, and he began sweating bullets. "I-I-I really don't know who you are and what you're talking about!"

Colin huffed, "Then do you know that the Chief Military Governor's private life is classified military information? His schedule, the people he meets, and the words he says are strictly confidential. No one and no organization has the right to find out what they are, let alone tail him and eavesdrop on his conversations. Do you know that what you're doing right now is prying into the military's top secrets? According to the rules in the army, we can treat you as a spy of our enemy nations. Not only can we arrest you, but we can even execute you on the spot."

Odert's face turned even more colorless at that, and he began quaking in his boots as sweat poured down like heavy rain.

His subordinates, too, were trembling like a leaf in the storm.

They had looked into many big shots, including Zion, the Cab secretary.

However, it was their first time looking into the Chief Military Governor.

Furthermore, the investigation of military personnel was unlike the investigation of a member of the Cab, for they could easily end up committing espionage.

Colin said, "I'll give you one last chance now to confess who sent you."

A trace of hesitation crossed Odert's face. He wondered if he should just give Colin an honest confession.

He knew that he would suffer after betraying his superior.

Yet, if he did not, he might not even leave the room alive.

When Colin noticed Odert's hesitation, he flatly said, “Don't assume that I won't be able to figure out what your history is if you say nothing. This is nothing trivial. I only wish to save us the trouble by having you confess to us instead. If you don't appreciate the opportunity I'm giving to you, you'll be filled with regret."

Fear flashed past Odert's eyes at that.

He then hastily cried out, "I'll tell you everything! I really will! Our deputy director was the one who sent us here to look into the Chief Military Governor."

Colin snapped, "Who is your deputy director?"This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"I-It's Sigurd Goodall!"

Colin scowled. "So you're Braydon's men. Ha. You've taken down Mr. Lucas, and now you're trying to do the same to our Chief Military

Governer? Do you have a death

wish I'm telling you now that, not only will you be meeting doom, but your director and deputy director will be doomed as well."

A shudder wracked Odert's body. He then lost his balance and fell onto the chair beside him.

Colin continued, "There are many of

you who are still tailing and eavesdropping on Chief Cross. It's best that you tell me their names now. If you work well, perhaps you'll have a chance to live. If not, be ready to face the consequences of revealing military secrets and be thrown into jail until the end of your lives!"

Odert quickly said, "I'll tell you everything I know! There are three more teams of us..."

After hearing his confession, Colin turned to instruct the Elite Eight. “Bring these three b*stards back first and send men to arrest the other three teams. Remember to be swift and silent. Don't alert the Goodall brothers to this."

The members of the Elite Eight replied in unison, "Yes, Sir!"

Meanwhile, in the private room next door, Nathan was enjoying his meal with his family.

All of a sudden, Colin knocked on the door and entered the room before reporting to Nathan quietly.

Nathan's brows furrowed after he heard Colin's words.

He then calmly said, "Okay, I got it. I'll deal with it after the meal."

Colin replied, "Understood!"

At that, he retreated from the room quietly.

Penny and the others turned to look at Nathan in confusion.

In a soft voice, she asked, "Hubby, what happened?"

Nathan reached out with his fork to put a piece of meat on his wife's plate. "It's nothing. There are some people who thought too highly of themselves and decided to poke the bear Let's keep eating and not let this interrupt our meal."
