Salute To The General

Chapter 2611

Will widened his eyes in surprise, for the person who spoke in the booth sounded like the Deputy Commander of the North Army, Heptakill. However, just when he was about to confirm with the gentleman, Will heard another loud but deep voice.

Will was taken aback once again when he realized that the voice belonged to another Deputy Commander of the North Army, Destroyer. Before he could respond, Fang, along with Destroyer and Heptakill, casually walked out of the booth to stand in front of him under the light. "It's been a while, hasn't it, Will? I've got to say. I didn't expect to meet you like this," uttered Fang with a smirk.

Will was stunned as he stared at Fang and the others. It's really the Three Heroes of the North!

In terms of status, Fang was on par with Will.

However, one could say that Fang had the Chief Military Governor's favor since he was appointed by Nathan himself to be the commander-in-chief. That alone meant Will had to show a certain amount of respect toward Fang.

Sensing that things were getting complicated, Will decided to order his men to stand down. However, before he could do that, Carrey stepped up to give the three a piece of his mind. "Who do you think you are? If you know who Will is, I suggest you get on your knees now and beg for forgiveness. If you please me, I might just let you live. Otherwise, I'll make sure he drags you guys outside to be executed."

With both his hands behind his back, Fang gave Will a half-smile before teasing, "Is that what you're going to do to us, Will? You're going to have us executed?"

"It's a misunderstanding. This is all just a big misunderstanding!" explained Will hurriedly. "What do you guys think you're doing? Put your weapons away, or I'll shoot you myself!"

Some of the soldiers at the scene recognized who Fang and the others were, so they quickly did as told to avoid trouble. They all had terrified expressions.

Carrey found it hard to believe what just happened. "Wait. What's going on here?"

"Carrey, I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding here," explained Will awkwardly.

Still, Fang was not convinced any more than Carrey was. "Misunderstanding? I don't think that's what this is. If you insist this is simply a misunderstanding, then you should explain this to my superior yourself."

Superior? Will's eyes grew even wider in horror as he shifted his attention to the man smoking in the booth.

“General Fang, you're not talking about the Chief Military Governor, Mr. Cross, are you?" inquired Will nervously.

"Who else could be my superior besides Mr. Cross?" responded Fang coldly.

Panicking, Will hurried over to the booth, and sure enough, he saw Nathan sitting inside with Penny, Colin, Ava, and others. Will then immediately straightened his back to salute Nathan. "It's an honor to be in your presence, Chief Military Governor!" What? Did he just say Chief Military Governor? Everyone at the scene was shocked to the core when they heard Will.

It was only then that they realized the three burly men were the Three Heroes of the North and the commanders of the North Army, Fang, Heptakill, and Destroyer.

What surprised everyone even more was that the calm and collected man sitting there turned out to be none other than the Chief Military Governor.

At first, Carrey did not understand why Will wanted him to stand down, but when he finally figured it out, he froze in place like a statue.

Naturally, Nathan would not have a

fallout with Will over something so trivial. Not only was Will a friend because he used to be a

subordinate to Nathan's teacher, but he was also the commander-in-chief of Brimmopolis' Capital Garrison, one of the most powerful figures in the military.

"Will, what are you doing here? These men and I were just enjoying ourselves here when we had an altercation with young Mr. Holmes. I'm sure it's no big deal, right?" asked Nathan with a smile.

Will responded to the man's smile with a bitter one. "Chief Military Governor, I—"

Raising his hand, Nathan interrupted the man, “We're not on duty right now, so you don't have to be so formal."

"Of course, Mr. Cross. I didn't know it

was you sitting here. Otherwise, I'd never have dared to come over to play the peacemaker." Will was a slick man, for he knew that not only would the word "peacemaker" sound less confrontational, but it would also help change Nathan's mind about his intention.

"It's just a small matter. And since

you came over to be the

peacemaker, I don't see why I shouldn't just let it go. Tell the Holmes boy that we'll forget about what happened tonight, but if he ever makes the same mistake again, know that not even Erwin can save him from me."

Will was thrilled when he heard Nathan, for the man had been more than magnanimous.

"Thank you, Mr. Cross! Thank you!" shouted Will appreciatively. Turning to Carrey, he ordered, "Get over here now and apologize to Mr. Cross."
