Richest Mogul

Chapter 799

Cameron’s granddaughter flushed and complained, “Grandpa, I’m not thinking about him. He’s just attractive. When I think about it, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle a man like this anyway. I’m not interested in giving myself grief

because of him. I’ll be the one suffering.

Cameron laughed and said, “Alright. You’re an intelligent girl for being able to figure that out. Let’s have dinner.”

“Aren’t we waiting for Skylar and Caleb?”

“They’ll be staying at a hotel tonight. They’ve got things to do. Let’s eat.”

The fondue bubbled and smoked before them. Fresh meat and vegetables. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

were laid out on the table..

Aiken loved having fondue too. The last time they ate together, he’d paid attention to Skylar’s preferences.

As they ate, Skylar’s face flushed. The fondue here was even spicier than the one in Jipsburg. After all, it was a local specialty.

Aiken handed a napkin to her and said, “Why don’t you wipe at your sweat?”

“Thank you,” replied Skylar. She took it from him and dabbed it on her forehead..

Suddenly, her phone pinged. Skylar put the napkin away and picked her phone. up. It was a text from Paul. He asked, “Have you gone back to Jipsburg?”

“Not yet.”

Paul immediately followed up with a call. “I thought you’ve returned to Jipsburg. That’s great! Where are you now? I’ll pick you up. Mr. Martin is drunk. His cold has also turned into a fever. I wanted to bring him to the hospital, but he wouldn’t give in. You’re the only one he’ll listen to now!” Skylar could pick up on the panic in his tone.

Skylar’s expression changed. She asked, “Have you taken his temperature?”

Sometimes, Joe behaved like a little kid.

“I have. He’s got a high fever. The temperature read 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit.”

Skylar hesitated for a moment. Ultimately, she stood up and said, “Where are you guys staying? Send me the address. I’ll head over now.”

Aiken had been observing her expression while she was on the phone. He watched as the smile slid off her face.

When Skylar ended the call, he asked, “What’s going on?”

“Joe has a fever. I’ve got to go to his hotel to check how he’s doing. I’m sorry. Enjoy the rest of your meal. I’ll leave now. When I get back to Jipsburg, I’ll treat you to dinner,” said Skylar, grabbing her bag.

Aiken stood up with her and suggested, “My car is outside. I’ll drive you.”

She glanced at the sky outside. Skylar didn’t refuse it. She said, “Sorry for troubling you.”

30 minutes later, his car rolled to a stop in front of the hotel.

Paul was waiting for Skylar by the entrance. Upon seeing Aiken get out of the car with Skylar, he froze. Why had Skylar showed up with Aiken? Wait, why was he in Zallory? Was it a coincidence?

Aiken asked, “How is Mr. Martin doing? Do you need my help sending him to the hospital?”

Paul came to his senses. He said, “Mr. Martin’s fever has gotten better. It’s around 101 degrees Fahrenheit now. He doesn’t need to be hospitalized just yet.”

Aiken nodded and said, “I’ll be leaving now. You can call me if you need me.”

“Alright, thank you.”

Upon hearing that Joe’s condition had improved and his fever had gone down, relief took over Skylar.

When she followed Paul into the hall, she saw Joe standing before her. She halted abruptly and asked, “Why have you come downstairs?”

Paul was stunned as well. Why had he come? Hadn’t he been lying in bed? Why would he come downstairs with a raging fever?

Joe pursed his lips tightly. He stared at Skylar with dark eyes. Then, he asked, ”

Have you been with Aiken all day?”
