Chapter 786
After walking in, Skylar saw the man standing behind Alexander. He had a head of white hair with a chubby, round face. He looked like a kind old man.
“This is Cameron Yates,” introduced Alexander.
“Good day, Mr. Yates Senior. I’m Skylar.”
When Cameron saw Skylar, he nodded with a smile. He praised, “Viola has always had an eye for people. What an intelligent young woman.”
They had roamed the earth for decades, encountering all kinds of people. From the first meeting, they could often discern someone’s character. Besides, Skylar was a child Viola had personally chosen. There wasn’t another girl like her in the world.
“Skye, come here and take a look at this painting. Mr. Yates Senior brought it here,” Alexander said after laughing briefly. He didn’t skirt around the topic and led Skylar straight into the guest room.
It was yet another painting.
It looked like a painting from the classical era. The water in the painting
seemed to come to life and trickle down the stream.
Cameron walked over. He appraised the painting on the table and said, “I participated in an auction a while ago. Someone auctioned this painting off. His family members had died of mysterious diseases, while his company went bankrupt. With no other option, he auctioned this painting off. The second laid eyes on it, I knew something was wrong.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“After Cameron told me about it, I invited him to Jipsburg to prevent any mistakes from happening. We can only confirm the nature of this painting once you’ve taken a look at it,” said Alexander.
Skylar glanced at the painting and said, “Let me look at it first.”
After observing the painting thoroughly, Skylar relaxed.
Just as she was about to speak, loud noises rang out from a room beside them.
The hotel had excellent soundproofing. They wouldn’t have heard what was going on if the occupants of the neighboring room hadn’t made such a racket.
The woman was shrieking pitifully. Everyone knew what was happening.
Alexander and Cameron frowned while Skylar pretended not to have heard it.
“There seems to be nothing wrong with the painting.”
Cameron froze. He confirmed, “Are you sure there’s nothing wrong?”
“Yes.”
“It looks like the fate of that family had nothing to do with this painting,” Alexander observed. He sighed in relief. He’d thought the negative items had been scattered throughout the country. If they left Jipbsurg, it would be beyond. their reach.
Suddenly, an idea popped into Alexander’s head. Viola had left Jipsburg, no one knew where she was now. Had she known about this?

Cameron exhaled a breath of relief alongside Alexander. He said, “That’s great. I would never want history to repeat itself. Thank God it was all part of my imagination.”
“It’s good to be alert,” responded Alexander.
Skylar listened to Cameron’s description of what happened decades ago. She had some inkling of it. Perhaps Viola had mentioned it once.
Someone wanted to use those negative items to cause chaos in others‘ lives. In the beginning, no one was looking out for this, so many people fell prey to it.
Thankfully, they were caught, and the chaos was stopped.
“Mr. Yates Senior, you must be careful even after returning home. If anything. seems off, you must talk to Mr. Gardner Senior about it,” Skylar advised.
Cameron nodded with a grin. He replied, “Alright.”
As time went on, the noises from the neighboring room grew louder. They could no longer ignore it. In the end, the three of them left the room.
Before Skylar left, she glanced at Room 2306. Just now, she thought she’d heard the mention of Mr. Martin.
It sounded rather familiar. However, the voice was marred by sobs. Skylar
couldn’t tell who it was.
Was someone role–playing inside?

Two hours later, Jenny dragged her battered body out of the hotel.
Her cab driver was concerned. Jenny didn’t seem to be in the right frame of mind. He asked, “Did something happen to you, miss? Would you like me to make a police report?”
Someone had clearly been rough with her, not to mention she was coming out of a hotel. Pretty girls tended to be harassed.
Upon hearing the police mentioned, Jenny shook her head. She said, “There’s no need for that. I’m fine. Please drive me home as quickly as possible.”
Jenny didn’t want to even think of what happened.
