It couldn’t just be that Skylar’s flight to Murida was canceled, leaving her feeling a bit down. After all these years as siblings, Charles understood Skylar’s personality all too well.

She wouldn’t look so lost and dejected if nothing serious had happened. It was clear to him that something was troubling her.

But since he was here today, he decided to stay and keep her company.

Skylar returned to her bedroom and fell asleep. After a hazy nap, she awoke to the delightful aroma wafting through the air.

She slowly made her way downstairs.

Charles was just finishing setting the table when he spotted her. He called out, “Just in time! Come and taste my cooking.”

“Okay,” Skylar replied as she walked over. She glanced out the window and noticed the rain was still pouring.

The sky remained gloomy, and all the lights in the villa were turned on.

As she sat down, she noticed the beautifully presented dishes on the table. Although she hadn’t felt hungry at first, her appetite was suddenly piqued. “Charles, this looks amazing!“.

“Of course! The film crew hired a five–star chef to give me private lessons. I already knew how to cook a bit, but with a little guidance, look at how much better I’ve gotten,” Charles said confidently.

When he did something, he either didn’t do it at all or went all out to make it the best he could.

Skylar dug into her meal.

She nodded as she ate. “This is great! Your cooking has surpassed Steven’s now.”

“Steven has been too busy dating and planning his wedding lately to focus on improving his cooking skills,” Charles said, a hint of pride in his voice.

He was looking forward to showcasing his culinary talents when the family gathered for

Christmas.

“Have you started dating anyone recently, Charles?” Skylar asked.

Right now, aside from herself, Charles was the one causing the most concern for Janine.

Her situation was a bit complicated, but Charles was purely focused on his career. For some reason he despised the idea of dating.

Whenever Janine asked him about it, he would say that women these days had too many expectations, and he couldn’t keep up.
