Richest Mogul

Chapter 750

Chapter 750

Everyone in the ward fell silent. Not a single person said a word.

A few minutes ago, they had whispered among themselves exchanging theories about what was going on between Skylar and Sadie. After all, every corner of the world was filled with gossipmongers.

Suddenly, they felt like it was karma for Sadie to be abandoned by the rest of the world.

What kind of parent would hope that their children suffer for them? Most would rather bear the pain for their children. Instead, what had Sadie said? She hoped Skylar got into the accident instead of her.

Blood was thicker than water. Even the cruelest tiger would not eat its cubs. This was why Sadie was stuck in her current predicament.

“This is the truth of what you’re thinking,” Skylar said coldly.

Sadie was stunned. Then, she realized what she’d said. She panicked as she professed, “I–I… That’s not what I meant! I’m your mom. You can’t escape your legal responsibility toward me. Peter can’t take care of me. They had no money to get me a maid. But you, you’re rich now. You could hire ten maids to care for me, and it wouldn’t even make a dent in your pocket.

“I didn’t give birth to you for nothing! I’m your mother. Janine didn’t give birth to you. She merely raised you. Why would you treat her like a queen but not me?”

Skylar did not see why she should continue listening to Sadie’s nonsense, and there was no need to say anything to her either. She walked out.

The door was kicked open just as she was about to open it, and in barged Peter and Samuel. They glared at Skylar evilly.

“You won’t be walking out of here tonight. You will take responsibility for it. Mom is right. Why didn’t you push her out of the way when the car came? You should’ve been the one lying on the bed. You should’ve become the disabled one. You made our lives a living hell,” Samuel growled with a flushed face. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

They had been eavesdropping outside.

Yet, they ended up hearing Skylar leave rather than taking up the responsibility

of caring for Sadie. That wasn’t the outcome they wanted to see.

Peter said grimly, “Mom isn’t doing well. The doctor said that she wouldn’t be able to hold on for long. You’ve never shown your gratitude to her for giving birth to you. In Mom’s final hours, we’re giving you the chance to do so. This is so you won’t have regrets in the future.

“In addition, you’re making so much money now. You have Joe backing you up. You can provide Mom with a better healthcare experience and get specialists to help her. Perhaps she might live for a few more years under your care.”

Clearly, he had prepared his little speech beforehand.

Skylar stared at Peter and Samuel coldly. She thought they’d turned over a new leaf as they hadn’t disturbed her peace in the past months. It would be best for them to live their separate lives. However, it looked like they weren’t going to give up without a fight.

Peter and Samuel felt a little diffident in the face of Skylar’s silence.

“W–What are you looking at? We’re waiting for you to transfer Mom to a better hospital. Joe owns a private hospital with excellent facilities. One word from you and he would get her over there,” Peter insisted with narrowed eyes.

Samuel added, “Yeah. A word from you would get the job done. Don’t be so petty. We’re your brothers. I’m your biological brother. When Charles got involved in that scandal, you did everything you could to help him. When I was in a crisis, you looked on from the sidelines. Whose sister are you?”

The news about Charles and Felicia had gone viral a few days ago.

Samuel had even sent influencers to tarnish Charles‘ good name. He wanted Charles to know how it felt to get kicked out of the entertainment industry.

In the end, the tables turned. Charles‘ PR team managed to control the situation, and Felicia ended up being banned from the industry. The difference in Skylar’s reaction to their scandals was atrocious. Why would Skylar help Charles but not Peter?
