Paul could make a few guesses as to what had gone down. After all, he had all the evidence of Edwin’s wrongdoings.
Skylar did not delve into the topic. She asked, “Does Mrs. Martin Senior know that I was kidnapped?”
“Yes,” Paul answered while nodding. Gloria wasn’t the only one who’d found out. Alexander and George also heard the news. They’d put in work behind the scenes to find her. If not, she wouldn’t have been found this quickly.
However, tonight had been an extremely close call. If they’d gotten here half an hour later, Skylar would’ve been raped.
Skylar hurriedly said, “Help me tell Mrs. Martin Senior about my situation. Ask her not to worry. I’m perfectly fine.”

Joe said gently, “Don’t worry. Everyone who hurt you will pay for it as long as I’m here.”
“Yeah, I believe you,” Skylar replied weakly.
Jenny could tell that Skylar was badly hurt. She bit her lip. Jealousy coursed through her veins. Even though she’d grown up with Joe, he’d never treated her with such care.
