Two hours later, Skylar and Joe left. 

Joe smiled in the car. He was clearly in a good mood. “Your mom 

seems to like me,” he said. 

In fact, the whole family seemed to like him.

“Yes, you did really well today,” Skylar praised him. 

Joe leaned down and whispered in her ear, “Don’t you think I deserve a reward?” 

Skylar tried to pull away, but Joe’s hand on her waist prevented her escape. Glancing at Lucas, who was focused on the road, she responded quietly, “Don’t worry. I’ll make a good impression on your family from now on.”
