Chapter 1229 Forever Exiled
A hand gently pushed open the door in front of them.
The assistant guarding the door walked in, followed by someone else.
The person was somewhere between adolescence and young adulthood, with a clean white shirt and
dark long pants that made his figure look extremely pleasing.
He raised his ink-black eyes and looked at the man behind the desk with a clear and indifferent
expression.
"Dante is here," he said.
There was no response.
The assistant wisely retreated.
The young man stood silently in the middle of the room, his expression indifferent as if he were
wandering outside of the mortal realm.
After a while, the man sitting behind the desk tossed the scroll in his hand aside and raised his eyelids.
The dark eyes of the young man flickered, and he called out softly, "Brother."
Osvaldo remained silent.
The young man stared quietly into his eyes and said, "Give her back to me."
Osvaldo's handsome face remained unchanged.
The young man's eyes showed a hint of stubbornness. "I'll trade myself for her, and from now on, my
life belongs to her."
He referred to was Selena.
Osvaldo sneered and his tone remained indifferent. "Bring her in."
The sound of footsteps leaving the room could be heard outside the door. After a while, the door was
pushed open again.
Constance was brought in and thrown into the middle of the room.
In just a short day, Constance had changed completely. Her face was pale, her eyes were bloodshot,
and she muttered something to herself. She seemed to be mentally disturbed.
The young man's gaze softened when he saw Constance. His expressionless face melted like ice
meeting fire.
He crouched down to help her up. "Constance..."
But Constance screamed out loud, her voice full of hysterical fear. "Ahhh!"
The young man's face turned pale with alarm, and he hurriedly hugged her. "Constance!"
After being held by the man for a long time, Constance gradually regained some clarity in her frenzied
gaze.
When she saw the person in front of her clearly, Constance trembled and grabbed his hand, tears
streaming down her face. "Dante, save me! Save me!!"
Dante looked at her pale and haggard face, closed his eyes, and turned to Osvaldo. "Brother."
Osvaldo walked up to them at some point, his cold gaze looking down on them from above.
As soon as Constance felt the murderous intent in his eyes, she trembled and hid in Dante's arms, not
daring to lift her head.
"You're willing to risk yourself for this woman? Does it worthy?" Osvaldo asked indifferently.
"Without her, I would have died a long time ago," Dante replied, his eyes fixed on Osvaldo. "It's not up
to you to decide whether it's worth it or not, only I can decide that," Dante said, meeting Osvaldo's gaze
with rare determination.
Osvaldo's eyes turned icy as he said, "This is the last time."
Then he turned and walked away.
Only after Osvaldo had left did Constance tremblingly raise her head and cry to Dante, "Dante, he had
someone kidnap me and wanted to kill me..."
Dante gently smoothed her hair, saying, "He won't."
Constance's eyes held resentment as she said, "It's true, he--"
Dante interrupted her, "If he really wanted to kill you, you wouldn't have had a chance to wait for me to
come back."
Constance choked up and her resentment almost turned to venom, "He kept me locked up in a dark
room for a whole day and night. I couldn't see anything, it was worse than death..."
Dante comforted her by wiping her tears, "That's because you hurt the girl he loved and she was
locked up in prison for a whole day and night."
Constance stared at Dante angrily, as if she wanted to accuse him, but suddenly suppressed her
resentment.
She lowered her head and buried her face in Dante's shoulder, crying so hard that her whole body
trembled. "Dante, believe me, I really didn't know about this..."
Dante patted her shoulder and said, "Don't do stupid things like this again in the future."
Constance's crying suddenly stopped.
She raised her head and looked at Dante with resentment, "You don't even believe me?!"
There's no evidence, right? Why is everyone convinced that she did it?
Dante furrowed his brows and pursed his lips. "Constance, I know it was you."
Constance looked into the pair of deep black pupils in front of her and suddenly remembered the
identity of the person. Her mouth moved, but she couldn't say anything in defense anymore.
She had a pale face and after a moment, she burst into tears and threw herself into Dante's arms
again. "Dante, I know I was wrong. I was jealous that she took the position of the head of the research
department, and I made a big mistake in a moment of confusion. Please forgive me..."
Dante gently patted her shoulder and didn't care about her disheveled appearance. "What do you
want? You can tell me."
Constance was waiting for this sentence. She looked up at Dante expectantly and said, "Dante, I want
to return to 717. Can you help me, please?" Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Dante shook her head. "You can't go back."
Constance's hope was dashed, and she could hardly suppress the resentment in her eyes. She asked
excitedly, "Why can't I go back? Selena is a graduate of Lab 717, and so are you!"
"The school expelled me because of her, but if you help me plead, I can still go back, can't I?"
Constance said.
"Selena is the darling of Lab 717, and so are you! Didn't you just say that I can tell you what I want?"
Constance asked. "Now I'm telling you, why don't you want to help me?"
Dante was dizzy by Constance's questions and her face gradually turned pale, but he still patiently
explained, "Because she spoke up."
Constance's questioning voice suddenly stopped.
She trembled as she looked at Dante, her eyes almost pitifully collapsed. "Who spoke up?"
Dante coughed softly and said, "The owner of 'Sacred Pearl,' she personally said that she is
permanently expelling you from Lab 717."
Constance suddenly widened her eyes, and all the blood in her body seemed to cool down in an
instant.
She remembered Selena's words, that she would never have the chance to return to Lab 717 in her
lifetime. The way she spoke in such an indifferent tone... Her expression twisted completely in a
moment.
She suddenly burst into tears and cried out, "It's Selena, it must be Selena who did this!"
"Why is she so cruel? Why doesn't she even leave me a way out?!"
If Bruno and others publicly criticized her on Weibo, it only made Constance feel humiliated. But when
the owner of "Sacred Pearl" spoke up and permanently expelled her from Lab 717, it completely cut off
Constance's path in the mechanical field.
