Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1585

Colby gently kissed Sophie's forehead. For months, he'd been missing Sophie intensely. The rumors flying around about their supposed marital troubles had been like a constant itch he couldn't scratch, and more than once, he was tempted to confront those spreading the nonsense. But he held back every time. Right now, all he wanted was to hold Sophie's hand and tell the whole world she was his one true love, his forever partner.

"Has it only been two months? Why are you acting like such a kid?" Sophie teased, poking his cheek.

Colby took her hand, replying, "It wasn't just two months. It was sixty-three days, one thousand five hundred and twelve hours, ninety thousand seven hundred and twenty minutes... Every single second apart, I was thinking about you." "Me too," Sophie said with a smile, leaning in to kiss the corner of his mouth.

There were so many nights when she'd wake up, reaching for the pillow next to her, only to find it empty. Over these two months, she'd realized just how much more Colby meant to her than she'd ever thought. He wasn't just part of her life; he was her whole world. "Colby, I don't care how others define love. All I know is, 'I love you' doesn't even begin to cover how important you are to me."

Her heartfelt words brought tears to Colby's eyes, and he swallowed hard. He used to think of himself as a heartless creature, living life just to go through the motions. Without emotions, existence was torture. Once, Lennon gave him a reason to live, driven by revenge. Then he met Sophie, and realized how vibrant life could really be. He wanted to live for her, always be by her side.

Whether the future held happiness or sadness, as long as she was there, even hell would feel like heaven. "Sophie, I love you," Colby whispered, his voice deep as he leaned in to kiss her.

An hour later, they stepped out of the room, Colby gently smoothing Sophie's slightly tousled hair. They'd held back, sticking to just

passionate kisses.

As they opened the door to the computer room, Adler couldn't resist a jab, "Oh, look who's back! I thought you two would be at it for hours."

Sophie's cheeks turned crimson, and she pinched Colby's arm in embarrassment, wishing she could just vanish.

Colby chuckled at her reaction, then turned to Adler, who was lounging in front of the computer. "Keep it up, and you can forget about having a wedding," he warned playfully.

"Whoa, whoa! Don't jinx it!" Adler almost jumped out of his seat.

Just then, Jenna walked in, curiosity all over her face. "Wedding? What wedding?"Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"Wedding? What wedding? There's no wedding!" Adler insisted, hurrying Jenna inside and shutting the door He snagged the bowl of fruit she'd brought and said, "Colby just meant that if keep running my mouth, he'll stop calling me his brother-in-law."

Jenna blushed. "I never said I'd marry you, don't get ahead of yourself!"

Adler joked seriously, "Can't do that. At Colby and Sophie's wedding, you promised to marry me! Sophie can back me up on that!"
