Chapter 1150

Finally, Colby set Sophie down from his back.
"Alright, open your eyes and tell me what you think."
Sophie opened her eyes to a warm and inviting room, a far cry from the stark black-and-white decor she was expecting. Instead, the room was a cozy cream color, filled with fluffy, adorable plush toys and a soft, beautiful sofa-exactly the kind of place a girl would love to live in.
A golden retriever bounded out from a corner, launching itself at Sophie with such enthusiasm that she could barely fend it off. "Dawn! Dawn, calm down! Okay, okay, mommy will let you lick, just one lick and then no more fuss!"
Sophie squatted down, and the golden retriever eagerly licked her cheeks several times before happily wagging its tail and sitting on the floor.
"This is our new home in Devonport," Colby said, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "After we're done with our busy schedules here, we can escape to the mountains for a few quiet days. If you want to stay in the city, we'll come back. Wherever you want to go, I'll always be with you."
"So, does that mean if I fall in love with a place, you'll buy a house there for me?" Sophie teased.
"It's not out of the question," Colby replied with a grin.
"But we shouldn't be so wasteful with money."
Sophie turned around, hugging Colby tightly. "One home is enough for us."
"Alright," he said, stroking her hair.
"You should go take a shower. I'm exhausted," Sophie said, playfully nestling in Colby's embrace.
"Let's shower together," Colby suggested.
"But I still have to feed Dawn," Sophie protested, gently pushing Colby towards the bathroom. He had no choice but to let her guide him in.
Once Colby was in the bathroom, Sophie headed to the living room. She immediately noticed a white porcelain bowl on the table, along with Dawn's dog food and meal cans.
As she prepared Dawn's meal, she said, "Dawn, don't you think daddy is wonderful?"
Dawn seemed to understand, nudging Sophie's hand. She continued, "From today onwards, you not only have a mom who loves you but also a dad who cares for you. Are you happy?"
Dawn happily licked Sophie's palm.
Sophie smiled contentedly. After preparing Dawn's meal, she patted his head and said, "Go ahead and eat. From now on, mommy will make sure you have lots of delicious food every day."
Just as Sophie finished speaking, a strong arm suddenly lifted her up from behind. She instinctively shouted, only to see Colby, wearing a bathrobe, holding her. "Colby! Put me down!"
Sophie's cheeks reddened. The room was quiet, with just the two of them, while Dawn, who was eating, perked up his ears and tilted his head to watch them. Colby whispered, "The bath is ready. On our wedding night, how could I bathe alone?"
Sophie tried to resist but eventually wrapped her arms around Colby's neck. "The doctor did say you shouldn't engage in any strenuous activity."
"We'll see if I'm fully healed. My wife can check later," Colby said with a playful glint in his eye as he carried Sophie towards the bathroom.
The second-floor bathroom Colby
had renovated was spacious, with a bathtub large enough for two. The window was transparent, offering a clear view of the outside scenery while providing privacy from outside onlookers. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
The second-floor terrace featured a huge swimming pool, a relaxation area, and even a small garden and pool designed just for Dawn.
