Odie rolled his eyes at Sandy's persistent nagging. "They're upstairs. Go see for yourself," he said coldly.
Angelo was taken aback by Odie's unexpected cooperation. He quickly grabbed Sandy's arm. "He's given us the green light. Let's not waste any time!"
Sandy, still skeptical, headed upstairs. Odie, who couldn't stand the sight of Sandy, turned and retreated to his study.
Unsure of which room Sophie was in, Sandy turned to Jonah, who was standing by the door. "Which room are Sophie and Colby staying in?"
Jonah, who had been insulted by Sandy before, wasn't in the mood to help her. "Sophie and Colby are on the second floor, but I don't remember which room. You'll have to find it yourself, Ms. Sandy." "What kind of attitude is that? Do you believe I'll have my brother give you trouble?" Sandy snapped.
Angelo's eyes widened in disbelief. Him? Cause trouble for Odie? What a joke!
"Sandy, it's not good to be so confrontational all the time," Angelo said with an awkward smile. "The second floor isn't that big. Let's just look for them ourselves. It's no big deal."
With that, Angelo started leading Sandy down the right side of the corridor.
Then, Jonah chimed in, "I remember now. Sophie and Colby's room is the second last one on the left hallway."
Hearing this, Angelo quickly redirected Sandy to the left, but before they got far, Sophie suddenly opened her room door.
Having heard the commotion outside, Sophie asked, confused, "What are you guys doing here?"
"Sophie! It's all because of you. You two just disappeared, and we couldn't find you anywhere!" Sandy exclaimed.
Ever since the morning after the wedding, they had been in a panic. No one had come back. Later, Jenna and Adler had rushed off to Devonport, mentioning that Sophie and Celby were at Odie's place. Naturally, Sandy assumed Sophie and Colby had been captured by Odie!
After hearing the whole story, Sophie laughed so hard her stomach hurt. "How could you think Odie had captured me and Colby?"
If it were anyone else, it might be possible, but the chances of Odie capturing them were next to none.
Seeing Sophie laugh, Sandy retorted, "What's so funny! Anyone would think that! And here I was, bringing my brother to rescue you, only to find you're here having a good time!"
Sandy, ready to leave with Angelo,
was stopped by Sophie, who said, "We're just staying here to recover from our injuries. In a few days, once Colby's better, we'll fly back to Devonport."
"Why recover here? This place isn't exactly the best environment, plus it's Odie's house," Sandy said with disgust. Angelo quickly tugged at her sleeve, signaling her to stop talking.
But Sandy didn't see anything wrong
with her comment. "What's there to be afraid of? Can Odie kill me? If he dares to lay a finger on me, my daddy will be the first to not let him off
