Revenge Against My Ex-husband

Chapter 211 Finding Out About Her Identity

Chapter 211 Finding Out About Her Identity

Joanne lost her appetite due to her busy thoughts. She only finished half of her meal before resting on

the sofa in the living room to brainstorming.

While she was deep in thought, Nathan's phone rang in the living room. Joanne glanced at it and saw

the name 'Jodie' on the screen. Just as she was about to ask Nathan who 'Jodie' was, he stood up to

pick up the call.

Joanne's curiosity sparked. She pricked her ears and listened carefully. She heard Nathan speaking

gently and whispered the name 'Jodie' softly. After the other side said something, Nathan replied with

an 'Oh no!' and he added, "Look at my poor memory. Please keep it for me. I'll collect it before I return

to Haverland. Thank you."

Joanne asked deliberately, "Nathan, who called you? Why did I hear a woman's voice? Are you having

an affair with another lady behind Irene's back?"

Nathan rushed to explain, "What nonsense are you spluttering? I went to the villa on the outskirts to do

some gardening for the roses, and I had misplaced my watch. The gardener-in-charge found my watch

and gave me a call to tell me."

"Don't lie to me, Nathan." Joanne laughed, "I just saw the name of the person on your phone screen.

Why did you save a servant's phone number as well?"

"Jodie isn't a servant of our family. However, now she's helping to take care of the villa's garden, so I

referred to her as the gardener."

Britney stopped in her meal and put down her cutleries. She walked over and asked, "Who's Jodie?"

Her interest was piqued by Nathan's explanation.

Nathan had no choice but to tell her everything that had happened to Rowane.

Britney smiled with relief and said, "My grandson is so kind to lend a helping hand to a stranger.

Speaking of which, this girl is really pitiful. You should help find out her identity as soon as possible so

that it will be helpful for her to restore her memory."

Nathan chuckled, "Grandmother, that's indeed my plan."

Britney had been hostile towards Joanne recently. She was trying her best to impress Britney. Upon

hearing what Britney said, she hurriedly added, "Nathan, send Jodie's photo to me. I'll ask my friends to

inquire around and see if anyone knows her."

Britney glanced at Joanne approvingly, "Not bad. Joanne has plenty of followers. You should get her to

help spread the news."

Nathan's face darkened, "No, I can't upload Jodie's photo online. Otherwise, I would've done it a long

time ago."

"Why not? The Internet is the fastest and most convenient way to find people," Joanne asked curiously.

Nathan answered, "You've forgotten what I said just now. When I found Jodie, there were scars on her

body. Plus, judging from the scene that time, someone seemed to be after her life. If I posted her

photos on the Internet, wouldn't it be terrible if her enemy discovered her? I can only ask someone to

investigate it secretly, not via the public."

Joanne nodded, "You're right. We really can't do that. How about this? My good friend, Linda's

husband, is a private detective. Send me Jodie's photo, and I'll get him to help investigate quietly."

"Yes, this is a good idea. I thank you on Jodie's behalf," Nathan said as he took his phone out and sent

Rowane's photo to Joanne.

Joanne glanced at her phone and couldn't help exclaiming in shock, "Nathan, why does Jodie look so

similar to Irene?" Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Nathan laughed, "Yes, I agree that they both do slightly look alike. If I didn't know that Irene doesn't

have a sister, I would have thought that Jodie was her sister."

"Really? Let me see," Britney went forward to take Joanne's phone to take a careful look at the photo.

She was astonished and said, "She looks similar to Irene indeed. She seems younger and prettier than

her. She must have a gentle personality."

Nathan chortled, "You're amazing, Grandma. You can tell someone's personality just by looking at their

photo. Jodie is indeed a docile and diligent girl. Hodge and the others fancy her a lot."

Joanne suddenly had an idea when she noticed Nathan's face to be full of approval as he mentioned

Jodie. She suggested, "Nathan, why not invite her over to our house for a meal? It's rather pitiful that

she has to suffer like this in a foreign place. Plus, Grandma likes crowds. So, having a guest over for a

meal would be nice too."

Britney agreed and added, "She has a point. Our house is big, but we don't have many people staying

here. It would be livelier if friends came over, so why not you bring Jodie home for us to get to know

each other?"

"Okay, I'll send someone to fetch her here for you guys to get to know each other," Nathan thought

about it and agreed with the idea. Rowane was a gentle and obedient girl, so Britney would love her a

lot. If she could come over to accompany Britney often, then Britney would be joyful. After all, he would

be returning to the country soon and would not be back for some time. Britney was rather annoyed with

Joanne's presence right now, and she could not accompany her as often as last time anymore. If

Rowane could replace Joanne in attending to Britney, then he could leave with a peace of mind.

After making up his mind, Nathan decided to go to the villa in person tomorrow and discuss the matter

with Rowane. If she was willing to, he would ask her to move into the White Mansion. However, he

never thought that his decision would change his relationship with Irene and his life.

…...

After the dream of having a business was shattered, Loraine and her son had hard time in life. They

used to have a few million dollars of savings but Tommy's rebellious personality had caused it to be

spent in clubs with his useless friends in the clubs every now and then.

At that time, he would be called as 'Mr. Lewis', and girls would rush over to him for attention. Now that

he was poor, even his friends no longer contact him. Sometimes, they would even meet on the streets,

but they would pretend to look away and not know each other. Tommy had finally understood what a

dog eat dog world felt like.

Fortunately, not everyone had abandoned him. Sam Hayes, who had encouraged him to build his

business before, still treated him the same as before. Speaking of Sam, Tommy found him to be an

interesting person.

In the past, Tommy used to tease him a lot. However, Sam had always faced his teasing with a smile

and never lost his temper. He followed him by his side all the time and addressed him as Mr. Tommy.

Tommy looked down on Sam a lot. He was short and stumpy and could not fight anyone. He was a

coward and had poor communication skills. That type of person was destined to be followers and could

never achieve great things in life.

Although he disrespected Sam, Tommy enjoyed his presence. After all, people like Sam gave him a

sense of accomplishment and superiority.

Of course, Sam was not a good-for-nothing. He had actually found a beautiful woman to be his

girlfriend, which was also Sam's only advantage.

Everyone at the party would stare at his girlfriend, and her bust really was alluring. Tommy had no

interest in women with big breasts. However, he didn't know why he had ended up falling in love with

an older woman. Due to the lack of parental care when he was young, he had a different feeling when

making love with older women.

So, Tommy's preference for women was only mature women. Although mature women could satisfy his

demands, he felt ashamed to bring them out. Hence, Tommy only spent time with older women

privately to meet his needs while telling everyone that he was single.

He had been rich at that time and often bragged that he had connections to a politician. During

gatherings, everyone, including men and women, would fawn over him. Of course, Sam's big-breasted

girlfriend was one of them.

Sam was protective over his girlfriend. However, that woman did not love him back and only had her

eyes set on Tommy because of his wealth and bachelor status.

One of Tommy's friends said that the woman had taken a fancy to him. Initially, Tommy had not

bothered about it. Eventually, he realized his friend was right and noticed that she often eyed him with

intentions.

Everyone was interested in Sam's girlfriend, but her eyes were only on Tommy. Men were hypocritical.

Although Tommy had no interest in the woman, he eventually had an affair with her under her

seduction and the influence of alcohol.

The woman wanted to get rid of Sam after seducing Tommy. However, Sam loved her so much and

refused to break up with her.

So, the woman schemed about having an affair with Tommy and made Sam catch them in bed to make

Sam give up on her. When he saw his girlfriend and Tommy naked on the bed, Sam's face darkened,

and his fists clenched.

Tommy felt a shiver run down his spine. Although Sam was bad at combat, he could do something

miraculous for the sake of love.

However, it was a fact that Sam was indeed hopeless. After a moment of anger, he chortled loudly and

said to Tommy, "Mr. Tommy, if you like her so much, then you can have her."

It was said that no one should bully another friend's woman, and the gangsters were people with

integrity too. Tommy knew that he was in the wrong, so he gave Sam plenty of benefits after that

incident.

Probably due to the fact that he managed to make up for it, their friendship did not grow distant due to

a woman. This time, when Tommy was downcast, only Sam stayed by his side. He never looked down

on Tommy, who was penniless with no status. He even gave him some money and food to help him.

Later, Tommy realized that Sam was a friend to keep close, compared to everyone else for one's true

colors only showed during the darkest times.

Sam had his own business to take care of and could not accompany him every day. Tommy found his

days to be challenging as a jobless person, so he would scroll through the Internet to pass time. Soon,

he met Lovely Skinny Rose, who was Rosa's identity to catch men, online. The conversation started

out about women and money but when they began to talk about their sad feelings, both of them found

a connection. Rosa had been cheated by greedy and lustful men before, while Tommy had a failed

business. Soon, they began to chat.

They had to meet up since they could relate to each other. Rosa knew that she was older and was

afraid that Tommy would reject her. So, she put on makeup and ended up realizing that she had been

worried for nothing. Tommy did not mind the fact that she was almost older than him by ten years. It

was love at first sight when they first met, and they quickly made love.

With Cecilia's company, Tommy felt that his life got much better. However, financial issues were always

a thorn in the rose. He had to find a way to immediately make money.

Cecilia proposed to bring Tommy to the nightclub she worked in. However, Tommy felt ashamed and

disagreed with her suggestion.

Cecilia noticed that he was reluctant to do so and did not force him. Initially, she had been on guard

against men after being deceived by Bruce. However, she had let her guard down entirely after meeting

Tommy. Instead, she felt somewhat intimate with him. She told Tommy that she could earn money to

support him, then he could rest first and recover his strength before finding another way.

Cecilia's consideration warmed Tommy's heart. Good things had not wholly abandoned him.

It really was a blessing for him to meet such a confidante at this time of crisis.

As time went by, the relationship between Tommy and Cecilia became closer and closer. He even

planned to spend the rest of his life with Cecilia.
