Revenge Against My Ex-husband

Chapter 206 A Lot On My Mind

Chapter 206 A Lot On My Mind

Jordan knocked hard on the door outside and asked Irene to open it, but no matter how hard they tried,

there was no reply. Worried that something would happen to Irene, Jordan turned to look at Dave and

Kinsey, "It seems that the only way now is to break the door down!"

Dave and Kinsey had no other way, so they just nodded. Jordan took a few steps back and crashed the

door open with force. As the door opened, they saw Irene holding her head and sitting on the bed. The

three of them breathed a sigh of relief.

Upon seeing the door suddenly opened, Irene was shocked. She stared at the three of them who were

at the door with her eyes wide open and her face bore a shocked expression. Kinsey closed the door

and walked to her side, "Irene, you've scared us to death!"

Irene gave her a bitter smile, "Why did you come back?"

"Uncle Thomas called us to come back. What happened?" Kinsey sat down beside Irene and looked at

her with concern.

Irene didn't know how to tell Kinsey about the matter. She clenched her fingers and kept silent. Kinsey

did not force her as well and she saw her phone that had been smashed into pieces on the ground.

She walked over and picked it up, "Who called you just now?"

"Marie."

"Marie?" Kinsey was stunned. What did Marie say to Irene that would make her throw her phone to the

ground? "Marie is just an evil and mean person. You don't have to take her words seriously."

Marie was such a vicious woman. She must have exaggerated with her words. Irene should not believe

her words. However, Dave had personally admitted that he liked her mother. What if there really had

been some kind of relationship between Dave and her mother? Irene did not dare to think about it.

Even though it was highly possible that it was not true, there was still an inkling that it might be!

Kinsey picked up the phone and put it on her bedside table. She walked to Irene and sat beside her.

She reached out and held on to Irene's hand, "Irene, you're pregnant now. Don't think too much. It's not

good for you and your child."

Irene still stayed silent. Kinsey held her hand and said, "No matter what happens, I will always be there

to support you! I'll be your strongest supporter forever!"

Looking at Kinsey's sincere eyes, Irene said with a bitter smile, "Kinsey, I have a lot on my mind."

"I know, so I'm telling you to not keep all of it in your heart. It's better for you to speak up."

"It's really embarrassing to talk about," Irene took a deep breath and told Kinsey about what happened

with Dave.

Kinsey listened to Irene's words and comforted her, "Irene, why don't you think about it more? Although

Dave is not your biological uncle, he has been treating you so well just like how a real uncle would for

all these years. I don't think you should worry about this."

"Kinsey, I'm not worried about that. It's something else. Dave actually liked my mother." Irene smiled

bitterly, "Although they're not biologically related, I still feel uncomfortable with it."

Kinsey was shocked. The thing that Irene was worried about was somewhat unacceptable for other

people. She thought for a moment and said, "Irene, Dave isn't related to your mother by blood. Our

country's laws forbid the marriage between blood-related relatives and collateral relatives within three

generations. Even if Dave and your mother were together, they did not break the law, even more so

they did not have an actual relationship that progressed. It's just that Dave liked your mother. Love is

not something that can be controlled by any human. That has happened a long time ago. You should

just let it go."

"Kinsey, do you know what Marie said to me?" Irene bit her lips, "She said that Dave was having an

incestuous relationship with my mother and Steven caught them in bed together. I-I really can't

imagine."

"Marie is such a vicious woman. What she said must be false." Kinsey shook her head, "Irene, that

woman must be trying to provoke you. You mustn't fall into her trap."

"I don't believe her either. I'm just afraid. What if it's true?"

"Irene, even if it was true, it has nothing to do with you. Again, Dave was not related by blood to your

mother. Even if they were together, it wouldn't be called incest."

"Kinsey, I know that you're saying this for my own good, and I also know that I shouldn't be too worried

about this. However, I really didn't want things to become like this, my mom, s-she holds a special

position in my heart. Steven has already disappointed me immensely. I don't want my mom to become

like him, do you understand?"

Steven had been involved in an affair during his marriage and had caused a huge trauma in Irene's life.

If her mother had also been involved with Dave during her marriage, Irene would not be able to accept

that.

"Irene, in that case, then you should believe in your mother more. She was definitely not that kind of

person and she would never let you down." Kinsey comforted, "Also, I think you should believe in Dave.

Since he had dared to say those things to you, it proves that he's not hiding anything anymore."

"If he had told me those things earlier, I would have believed him. However, I now know that he had no

choice but to tell me. If Marie hadn't threatened him, he would have kept these things in his heart for

the rest of his life."

"I think you've misunderstood Dave. He didn't tell you because he didn't want to bring trouble to you

and was afraid that you would get hurt. Dave is a person who thinks about you all the time, so you

should believe him."

Kinsey was telling the truth. Dave had been very kind to Irene over the years. She should believe in

him and her mother.

Kinsey stayed in the room to comfort Irene, while Jordan and Dave were sitting on the sofa in the living

room waiting anxiously. Jordan was impatient and couldn't help blaming Dave, "Why did you tell her

now? Aren't you just making things worse?"

"I didn't intend to tell Irene about this, but Edric had come to me and talked about Marie. Irene and

Edric are separated from each other and a big part of it is because of Marie. So, I didn't feel good,"

Dave told Jordan what Edric had said to him when they met. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Marie has always been more devious than the average person ever since she was a child.

Additionally, she has done many bad things over the years. I was worried that she would harm Irene,

so I told her what had happened in the past. At that time, it was just a thought and I had no intention to

actually tell her. That is, until today, Marie came to see me again. She treated me like I was a fool. She

suggested strongly that I should take Irene away from here. I was furious, so I said something bad to

her. Later, I thought that since Marie couldn't turn over a new leaf anymore, she really would do

anything to achieve her purpose. I was afraid that she would say ridiculous things to Irene so I thought

that it would be better for me to tell her myself instead, but I didn't expect Irene to have such a strong

reaction."

"Marie and Myra were like sisters. As the saying goes, once a man dies, the hatred will vanish as well.

The hatred in Marie should have disappeared after Myra's death, but it turns out she still keeps it in her

heart. She even helped Deborah and her daughter to harm Irene several times. That's so vicious of

her!" Jordan was very angry, "What benefits did Deborah and her daughter give her so she would help

them so much?"

Dave smiled wryly, "She and Deborah share the same thoughts and personality. They've done a lot of

bad things all these years. There must be some unspeakable secrets they share."

Upon mentioning Deborah, Jordan thought about Myra's death and he asked, "Do you know anything

about Deborah?"

"No," Dave replied, "I used to think that she was a good person, but later I found out that she had an

affair with Steven behind Myra's back. You can imagine how bad her character is."

"For Deborah to become a politician's wife from just a normal person, she's not all that simple." Jordan

sneered, "By the way, have you ever had suspicions about Myra's death?"

Dave shook his head, "Myra's death was an accident. It was a hit and run. Later, he was arrested and

sentenced to 10 years of prison. At that time, he was initially sentenced to only three years. It was

Steven who had used his connections and the driver got the heaviest sentence."

Jordan sneered, "Steven is such a hypocrite. If he hadn't cheated on her with Deborah, and if Deborah

hadn't told Myra about their scandal, Myra wouldn't have gotten into that accident. He and Deborah are

the culprits of all this. He did that to the driver just to make himself feel better."

"What did you say? Deborah had looked for Myra before the accident? How do you know that?" Dave

was very surprised.

"My mother told me so," Jordan told Dave everything Lydia told him. "I showed Deborah's photo to my

mother. She said that the person who had met Myra at that time was Deborah. I suspect that Myra's

death has a lot to do with Deborah."

Dave could not believe it at all, "Did your mother mistake her for someone else? Deborah might be

cruel, but she wouldn't be that vicious and hurt others until that point, would she?"

"No, my mother recognized Deborah as the person who had met Myra when she saw the photo.

Talking about being cruel, which of Deborah's actions aren't cruel? She has seduced her good friend's

husband, harmed Margaret till the brink of death for Lily's sake and now she even wants to frame Irene.

Plus, the last time when Kinsey beat Lily up, it appeared like she didn't make any moves, but she

secretly asked someone to get revenge on Kinsey. Fortunately, I was there at that time, or the

consequences would be unimaginable."

Jordan sneered, "Last time, I was just being suspicious of her, but coupled with what she has done

recently and the fact that Myra had a car accident after meeting her, I'm almost certain that she must

have said something to Myra in order to gain the upper hand. She indirectly caused Myra's death."

Dave's face turned pale, "I never knew that Deborah had secretly met Myra. No wonder Myra told me

on the phone that Steven had cheated on her and he had a child. So Myra's accident wasn't a

coincidence, but it happened because of what Deborah said?"

He muttered to himself, raising his head. His expression instantly changed, "Irene! You..."

Nobody knew when Irene's room door had been opened. Kinsey and Irene stood at the door and

looked at them motionlessly. It seemed that she had heard everything Jordan just said.

In front of Dave's surprised face, Irene walked to Jordan step-by-step and said, "Can you repeat what

you just said?"
