Revenge 194

Chapter 194

Mayra’s heart raced as the warmth of Anderson’s breath brushed against her face. There were just a few inches between them.

Quickly, she pushed Anderson away and jumped down from the sink counter. She endured the pain in her, ankle and almost stumbled to the ground. This time, Anderson just looked at her coldly without offering any assistance.

“I–I need to go do my homework. If you’re busy, you can have Helen come to take care of me.”

Anderson’s gaze was cold. Seeing her facial features twist in anguish when she hopped down from the sink counter, he remained unmoved. “You never used to refuse me.”

“I don’t understand what you’re saying. And please don’t do these strange moves anymore.” Mayra said, her tone cold and distant.

Anderson found her warning laughable.

Mayra hastily left the restroom.

She avoided his touch at every opportunity. His actions were clear to her, but they shouldn’t repeat the same mistakes and continue down this path. Anderson’s games were something she couldn’t play.

He had given her a bangle and money. If she slept with him, would he buy her a house too? Mayra wondered if Anderson saw her as nothing more than his plaything or a pet he kept. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Did he get what he wanted from Serena using the same trick, so now, he had set his sights on her?

Mayra was just a 16–year–old girl. She couldn’t grasp why he suddenly wanted her when he had rejected her first.

But she could understand why he had avoided her when she confessed to him at 14 because she felt the same about Anderson now.

Mayra could barely hold a pen to finish her homework. As the painkillers wore off, she lay on the hospital bed, feeling suffocated with every move.

When Helen came to the hospital to take care of her, Anderson had already left. Mayra wanted to take her painkillers, so she reached out for them on the bedside table.

The moment Helen arrived, she heard a terrible scream from outside the door. Rushing in, she found Mayra lying on the floor.

She immediately helped her up and realized something was seriously wrong. She quickly called for a doctor. It turned out that in the fall, Mayra had fractured her hand.

Mayra had never experienced such pain before, and all she could do was take painkillers to ease it.

After three days in the hospital and no other accidents, Mayra was discharged. Shane came to pick her up instead of Anderson. With a bandage around her neck, Mayra sat in the back seat while resting her head on Helen’s lap because she felt dizzy.

“You clumsy child. Why are you so careless?”

“It’s okay. I just need to rest for a few days.” Mayra ate an apple she had brought from the ward while lying down. She even had two oranges and a banana in her pocket.

Her plans for a date with Gordon had fallen through.

Mayra took the morning off but had to rush back to school in the afternoon.

Shane dropped Mayra off at the school gate since she could walk normally again. Seeing her enter the school, Shane went back to the company.

In the president’s office, Anderson stood by the floor–to–ceiling window with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a cigarette. Smoke curled around him as he exuded an air of cold elegance

Shane entered the office and ported, “Ms. Sadler is already back at school.”
