Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Revenge 118

Revenge 118

Mayra received a demerit for skipping classes, but her punishment was just a slap on the wrist. After all, who in Belchester would dare cross the Barlows?

In Belchester, anyone tied to the Barlow family had some influence, let alone Anderson’s “sister.”

Sitting in the back seat, Mayra was surprised to find Hailey behind the wheel after what happened. Her calm demeanor showed her psychological endurance.

But it wasn’t too surprising. Hailey wouldn’t have stayed by Anderson’s side for so long if she didn’t have some capability.

While leaving the company earlier, Mayra noticed Shane by the door and spotted the bruises on his neck. Thinking about it, she suspected Anderson was behind it. But it was only her speculation. As for the reason why, she didn’t know.

As Mayra sat in the backseat, her feet somehow ended up on Anderson’s lap. Her shoes and socks were gone. He held a tube of cream. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

The wounds on her legs had scabbed over, and the burns from before had mostly, healed, but the scarring still looked terribly red.

“It’s fine, Andy. I’ve gotten a lot better now. I don’t need to apply the cream anymore,” Mayra said.

Anderson replied, “This is a cream for scars. If you want them to heal completely, you have to apply it consistently.”

Mayra remained silent with her lips pursed. But she noticed Hailey’s occasional glances at her through the rearview mirror, which made her feel uncomfortable.

She stole a glance at Hailey, and the next second, Anderson warned, “Watch the road.

Hailey responded, “Yes, Mr. Barlow.”

“Hailey must be jealous,” Myra thought.

No matter how well Hailey hid it, Mayra had lived two lives. She could see through Hailey’s intentions despite her “sisterly” act with Anderson and even if she repeatedly said she didn’t love Anderson.

If Hailey liked him, then what about Anderson? What were his true feelings toward Hailey? Wasn’t Isabel the woman Anderson loved the most?

But if Isabel was important to him, why did he brush her off at the company? Shouldn’t he comfort her?

Mayra’s mind was a tangled mess. Was she overthinking or onto something?

After applying the cream, Anderson pulled Mayra into her arms and let her sit on his lap. Perhaps he found her legs to be in his way.

Mayra murmured while peeking at Hailey in the front seat. “A–Andy, this isn’t appropriate.”

Anderson’s tone was nonchalant as he smirked. He gently bopped her nose, saying, Sit properly, sweetheart.”

Sensing the car slowing down, Mayra felt that Anderson’s kindness and intimacy toward her were just a show for Hailey. The thought weighed heavily on her.

As they neared the restaurant, Anderson helped Mayra put on her shoes and socks before wiping his fingers with a wet tissue. They originally planned to go for steak, but Mayra suddenly wanted fish and chips, so Anderson just went along with it.

Hailey stayed in the car when they reached the restaurant. Mayra and Anderson went to a private room and started ordering food. At this moment, Anderson stepped out, likely for a smoke.

Mayra casually ordered a few things. Like Anderson, she wasn’t picky about food.

After about ten minutes, when all the food was served, the door to the private room opened. Anderson returned with Hailey, who was disheveled and flustered. She sat down beside Anderson.

Mayra ignored them. Whoever Anderson really liked had nothing to do with her in this life.
