Chapter 258
Chapter 258
Oscar hit right on the sore point. Both Luna and Trissy felt targeted.
Luna turned her head and saw that Trissy's face was also slightly pale.
Luna looked at Oscar with anger. "Are you here to humiliate us? We are indeed short of money now, but at least we never smeared the name of the Cheek family. We play all above board."
"All above board?" Oscar said playfully. His eyes suddenly became sharp.
He lowered his voice and said, "How? By replacing the bride? Miss Cheek, don't you feel guilty? The only thing above board is your stupidity, I'm afraid."
"How dare you!" Luna heard the sarcasm in his tone and immediately pointed at him.
"Trissy, let's go!" Luna glanced at the surroundings. She didn't want to continue being humiliated here, so she wanted to leave with Trissy.
"It seems that you still hold your head arrogantly high, Miss Cheek. You don't even give a damn to the wealthy of the Thomas family," Oscar leaned lazily against the sofa and said lightly.
Luna froze at what he said. Trissy looked at Luna uneasily. She said, "Luna, let's go. I don't believe in him at all. He's not that capable as he claims to be."
Oscar ignored Trissy. He still stared at Luna and said, "All I need is a formal identity of the Thomas family. If I make it, with my abilities, I can do better than Lucas."
"Oh, shut up. Do you think you can compete with Lucas?" Trissy said in disdain.
"Lucas got what he got because of what he was born with. So did Jessica. If she weren't Morgan's
daughter, she would be nothing more than a divorced woman. How could she even possibly have a place on Lucas' mind?"
Oscar was opening Pandora's box for Luna. His tone, though extremely calm, was full of bewitchment. Luna was tempted.
She had always felt that she was not inferior to Jessica. Before, when Jessica's identity was not exposed, Lucas had never paid attention to her.
Luna always felt that she was better than Jessica in all aspects.
So at this time, she couldn't agree with Oscar more.
"How do you want to help me?" Luna retreated to her seat.
Trissy looked at Luna. She was a little anxious, but she had no choice but to sit down.
Trissy certainly wanted wealth from the Thomas family, but she was way more clear-minded than Luna. The Thomas family would never make such an illegitimate son heir of the family.
"Now that the Thomas Group is in danger, if I can appear as another heir of the Thomas family, I can turn the tide and solve the crisis," Oscar said.
"What does that have to do with us?" Trissy couldn't help but interrupt and ask.
Oscar glanced at Luna and found that she was also looking at him in confusion.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
So he continued, "As long as I can become a member of the Thomas family, I can marry Luna." "What?"
As soon as Oscar finished speaking, both Luna and Trissy were surprised.
"Luna, I told you not to believe him. It's such a waste of time! Let him drown in his own fantasy!"
Trissy held Luna's arm tightly. She said, "Let's go back."
"Luna, you're not dreaming of marrying Lucas, are you?" Oscar stared at Luna and said.
Luna felt a throb. She was lost for words.
Though Luna didn't want to admit it, Lucas' attitude was quite telling after what happened at the wedding. Back then, she took the risk of appearing at the wedding, dreaming that Lucas would accept her for the sake of the Thomas family's reputation.
Yet now, it was all ruined. She would never ever get a chance again.
"Are you sure you'll marry me?" Luna asked softly. "You went through so much trouble to return to the Thomas family. Isn't a noble lady of greater help?"
"You're going to do something for me. With that, you will be my ally and never betray me. You'll also believe that I'll marry you," said Oscar firmly.
