Chapter 18
Nesta’s POV
After the maid left with the polished breakfast, I sat in the quiet solitude of my room, the weight of uncertainty pressing down upon me like a heavy shroud, the sudden sound of the door bursting open jolted me from my reverie.
My eyes widened in surprise -and fear- as a young woman strode into the room, her presence commanding attention with an air of confidence that left no room for doubt.
With long, cascading blonde hair that mirrored my own and warm, expressive brown eyes that sparkled with vitality, she bore a striking resemblance to the alpha’s sister. Why does everyone have blonde hair here? Even the maid.
Her features were softened by a gentle smile that tugged at the corners of her lips, a silent invitation to engage in conversation.
“Hello there,” she said, her voice bright and cheerful as she crossed the room to stand before me. “I hope I’m not interrupting any thing. I just couldn’t resist the urge to come and say hello
Her words were like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds, dispelling the lingering shadows of doubt and uncertainty that had plagued me in recent days.
She seemed like a breath of fresh air. With a grateful smile, I returned her greeting, my voice tinged with warmth and gratitude but also apprehension. I don’t do well with new people.
No, not at all, I replied, my tone filled with genuine appreciation for her company. Tm actually glad you stopped by. I could use a friendly face right about now,”
Soon we settled into conversation, the young woman’s easy charm and infectious enthusiasm helped to lift my spirits, casting aside the worries and fears that had weighed heavily upon me.
And as we whiled away the hours in animated conversation, sharing stories and laughter, I couldn’t help but feel a glimmer) of hope stirring within me.
I won’t mind her being my friend, she is everything I am not. Her name is also Elara and she is the alpha’s sister. She lives in the same house as I and she barged here as soon as she found out I was here.
We continued our conversation, I found myself drawn to Elara’s infectious enthusiasm and genuine warmth. She is also talkative.
There was a sense of ease and familiarity in her presence that made me feel instantly at ease, as if we had known each other for far longer than we actually had.
But when she began to talk about her experiences in college, a sense of confusion washed over me like a tidal wave. I know almost nothing about those things.
Colleges existed beyond the confines of the Red Moon pack, I knew that much, but the idea of attending one seemed like a distant dream, unattainable for someone like me who had spent most of my life as a servant within the pack.
As she spoke excitedly about her studies and the friends she had made along the way, I could feel the gap widening between us, a stark reminder of the different paths our lives had taken.
Unable to hide my confusion, I stared at her dumbly, struggling to comprehend the world she described. Her experiences that I could never relate to.
Sensing my bewilderment, the young woman’s expression softened with sympathy, her eyes widening in realisation. “You’ve never been to school, have you?” she asked gently, her voice tinged with understanding.
1 shook my head slowly, feeling a pang of shame at my lack of education compared to hers. But before I could dwell on my insecurities, her face lit up with
She adjusted herself beside me on the edge of the bed, her eyes sparkling with excitement, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of gratitude for her kindness and generosity.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
“How about I teach you everything? I can see what you are expecting and if you haven’t gone to school, you barely know anything about your body.” She made it all sound like a question
“Are you sure?”
“Yep! I’m a good tutor too. You will also tell me about this your dumb pack that didn’t allow you to go to school. In this century? Fuckers.” She rolled her eyes.
Thank you. Elara,” I said softly, my voice filled with genuine appreciation. “I don’t know what to say. This means so much to
me
She waved off my thanks with a dismissive gesture, her smile warm and reassuring.
“Don’t mention it,” she replied. “I’ve always believed that education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. And besides, I think we’re going to make a great team!”
I could feel a sense of anticipation building within me, a newfound eagerness to learn and grow.
For the first time in a long while, I allowed myself to imagine a future where I wasn’t defined by my past, where the possibilities were endless and the horizon stretched out before me, beckoning me towards new adventures and discoveries.
Over the next few days, Elara became not just a mentor, but also a friend. We are basically inseparable now and her friends are complaining already.
She patiently guided me through the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, her enthusiasm contagious as she shared her love of learning with me.
And as I soaked up her teachings like a sponge, eager to absorb every ounce of knowledge she imparted, I felt a sense of empowerment blossoming within me. Knowledge is indeed power like she said.
With each new lesson, I grew more confident in my abilities, more determined to carve out a future for myself that was bright and full of promise. I want everything. I want it all.
As we sat together in the evenings, poring over textbooks and discussing the wonders of the world beyond the pack borders, I knew that I had found not just a teacher, but also a kindred spirit.
Elara beamed at me with pride, I knew that together, we would defy the odds and achieve greatness, one lesson at a time. She also said I was a fast learner like her.
With a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, Elara seized my hand and pulled me out of the room with a burst of energy that took me by surprise.
We made our way through the corridors of the pack house, her laughter echoed off the walls, infectious and full of life. If she hadn’t told me she was twenty one, I would think she clocked sixteen years old yesterday.
“Come on, let’s go tell Luca the good news!” she exclaimed, her enthusiasm palpable.
Before I could protest, we arrived at a large door at the end of the hallway. Elara swung it open with a flourish, revealing a spacious room adorned with rich furnishings and intricate tapestries.
Seated at a grand desk in the centre of the room was a man who could only be Alpha Luca, his presence commanding attention despite the casual air that surrounded him. Yep, the alpha I met

Alpha Luca glanced up from his work, a bemused smile playing at the corners of his lips, He stared at me for a second checking out in concern when he didn’t see anything amiss his eyes went to his sister.
“Oh, have you now?” he replied, amusement dancing in his eyes. And who might this lucky pupil be?”
Elara nudged me forward with a playful grin. “Meet my newest student,” she announced, gesturing towards me. Tm already Tutoring her!”
Alpha Luca’s laughter filled the room, warm and hearty. “Well, well,” he said, his tone teasing “I hope you’re prepared to be overwhelmed, dear Nesta. Elara can be quite the handful.”
Elara rolled her eyes in mock exasperation. “Oh, please, she retorted. “I’ll have you know that I’m an excellent teacher.”
The banter between brother and sister was like music to my ears, a welcome respite from the weight of the world outside.. Something I have never witnessed.
As they exchanged playful jabs and teasing remarks, I couldn’t help but smile, grateful for the opportunity to witness their bond firsthand:
Alpha Lucrturned his attention to me with a warm smile. I knew that I had found not just a teacher in Elara, but also a family in the Crescent Moon pack. Even though it feels and looks too good to be true.
And with their support and encouragement, I felt confident that could overcome any obstacle that stood in my playful banter at a time.
