Chapter 16
Nesta’s
I stepped into the room that had been graciously provided to me within the alpha’s pack house, a sense of overwhelming. gratitude washed over me like a tidal wave, threatening to pull me under with its sheer force.
The space was simple yet comfortable, adorned with touches of warmth and hospitality that spoke volumes about the generosity of my hosts. So much softness.
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I took in the sight before me, my heart swelling with emotion at the realization of the honor that had been bestowed upon me. Something I have never been given.
To be welcomed into the heart of the alpha’s pack, to be entrusted with a place among their midst, it was a privilege that filled me with a profound sense of humility and awe.
But as I stood there, surrounded by the echoes of unfamiliar voices and the laughter of children playing nearby, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that lingered within me like a shadow.
Was it the weight of responsibility that bore down upon my shoulders, threatening to crush me beneath its burden!
Or perhaps it was the surge of pregnancy hormones that wreaked havoc on my emotions, turning even the simplest of gestures into a floodgate of tears. Though it is way too early for that, isn’t it?
I have no knowledge on pregnancy whatsoever because we weren’t given one. No one wants to educate the servants. I have to ask my way around in this pack instead. I hope they won’t think I’m too foolish for them.
I sank down onto the edge of the bed, overcome by a wave of exhaustion that seemed to seep into my very bones. I couldn’t help but wonder what it was about this pack that stirred such deep–seated emotions within me.
Was it the sense of belonging that had eluded me for so long, the promise of a family that extended beyond blood ties and pack affiliations? Or was it simply the overwhelming weight of the future that loomed before me, filled with uncertainty and possibility in equal measure?
With
a weary sigh. I brushed away the tears that threatened to spill over, determined to steel myself against the onslaught of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me. I need to be strong. I promised to be strong for my child.
For though the road ahead may be fraught with challenges and obstacles, I knew that I was not alone. I need my baby to be there for me. Here in the Crescent Moon Pack, I had found not only a home but also a family, a beacon of light in the darkness that guided me towards a future filled with hope and promise.
I settled into the room, still reeling from the overwhelming emotions that had threatened to engulf me, a gentle knock at the door drew my attention.
With a soft creak, the door swung open, revealing a maid standing in the threshold, her expression kind and welcoming. The maids here are literally glowing in good health. I won’t mind being one to earn a living.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” she said with a warm smile, “I’ve been sent to draw you a bath. The alpha thought you might appreciate a chance to relax and refresh yourself after your journey.”
Her words were like a balm to my weary soul, and I found myself nodding gratefully as she stepped into the room, a basket of toiletries cradled in her arms.
The bathroom beyond was a sight to behold, spacious and luxurious, with gleaming marble floors and intricately tiled walls. This is so modern just not like the one from the palace but way above Red Moon Pack.
As the maid busied herself preparing the bath, I couldn’t help but marvel at the opulence of my surroundings.
The air was redolent with the scent of honey, rose, and coconut, heady combination that wrapped around me like a comforting embrace, soothing away the lingering traces of tension and anxiety.
A sense of anticipation coursing through my veins, I shed my clothes without hesitation, the modesty that usually held me back melting away in the face of the maid’s gentle presence. Shyness gone.
Stepping into the fragrant water, I sank down with a contented sigh, the warmth seeping into my bones and melting away the knots of tension that had formed within my muscles,
The maid worked diligently to ensure my comfort, I closed my eyes and allowed myself to simply be, to bask in the tranquility of the moment and revel in the simple pleasure of being cared for.
And as the soothing waters enveloped me in their embrace, I knew that I had found not only physical relief but also a sense of peace and serenity that I had longed for more than I realized.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
I soaked in the fragrant bath, the maid busied herself with selecting a simple yet comfortable dress for me to wear. With deft fingers, she chose a soft, flowing garment that draped elegantly over my form, its gentle fabric a soothing caress against my skin.
After I was done, she helped me out of the bath and into the dress. I couldn’t help but marvel at the care and attention to detail with which she tended to me. I wasn’t even treated like this back in the palace.
Her movements were gentle and unhurried, her touch as light as a feather yet filled with an underlying warmth that spoke of genuine concern and compassion.
Once dressed. I made my way to the plush mattress that awaited me, its softness a welcome respite after the trials of the day. With a contented sigh, I sank down onto the bed, the weight of exhaustion pressing down upon me like a heavy blanket.
In the hazy moments that followed, I felt myself drifting on the cusp of sleep, the rhythmic rise and fall of my chest a comforting lullaby that beckoned me towards the realm of dreams.
And as I succumbed to the embrace of slumber, my mind finally at peace, I knew that I was safe, cared for, and surrounded by the gentle embrace of those who wished me well. I will forever be grateful for this pack.
