After our successful shopping spree, Maria and I decided to treat ourselves. We deserved a break, and what better way to relax than by enjoying some good human food?

We drove to a quaint little caf it Maria had recommended, known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious dish….

As we stepped inside, the aroma of freshly baked bread and rich, savory dishes greeted us.

The café was charming, with wooden tables, soft lighting, and cheerful staff who welcomed us warmly. We found a cozy corner by the window and settled in, glancing at the menu.

Maria’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “You have to try their truffle pasta. It’s divine.”

I smiled, feeling my own excitement build. “I’m definitely in the mood for something indulgent.”

When the waiter came by, we ordered a variety of dishes, eager to sample as much as we could.

While we waited, Maria and I chatted about the baby items we had picked out, each of us feeling more relaxed with every passing moment.

Our food arrived, and the sight alone was enough to make my mouth water. The truffle pasta was served in a deep bowl, the creamy sauce glistening under the light.

The rich aroma of truffles filled the air, making my stomach growl in anticipation. I took a forkful, and the flavors exploded in my mouth.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce velvety and decadent, with just the right amount of truffle to give it an earthy, luxurious taste.

Next, we tried the grilled lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, with a beautiful chart on the outside and tender, juicy meat inside.

The lamb was served with a side of roasted vegetables, their natural sweetness enhanced by a light drizzle of balsamic glaze.

Each bite was a symphony of flavors, the savory meat balanced perfectly by the slightly tangy and sweet vegetables.

Maria insisted we try the seafood platter, a dish she said was a must–have. It

As Maria and I made our way back to the palace, the car ride was filled with Laughter and stred excrement over the baby items we had purchased.

The day had been a refreshing break from the intensity of palace life, and I felt Ighter my wores temporarily set aside.

We were just a few minutes away from the palace gates when Maria suddenly remembered something

“Oh. I left my phone at the cafe. I’ll just pop out and grbil only uke a second the sad squaling the dryer to sapp.

The car came to a smooch halt by the roadside, and Maria hopped out quickly flashing me an apologet smile. Be right back, she called before disappearing into the nearby shop.

I watched her through the window, a fond smile playing on my lips. The driver, a quiet and efficient man named Peter, turned to me.

“Is everything alright, ma’am?”

1 nodded. “Yes, thank you, Peter. Maria will be back in a moment.”

I glanced around the area, enjoying the serene evening. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden hue of verything.

My hand instinctively moved to my baby bump, feeling a sense of calm and contentment wash over me. Just then, my phone buzzed with a message from Nolan, checking in on me.

As I began to type a response, I felt the car shift gears. Before I could look up, Peter’s voice came over the intercom. “I’ve received instructions to take you to another location, ma’am. Please sit back and relax.”

Confusion clouded my thoughts. “What? From whom?” I started to protest, but the car was already moving.

My heart rate quickened, and I felt a cold dread seep into my bones. This wasn’t right.

Something was very wrong. I reached for the door handle, intending to stop the car, but it was locked. Panic set in as I realized I couldn’t open the door.

“Peter, stop the car!” I demanded, my voice rising.

But Peter remained silent, his eyes fixed ahead as the car sped up. I glanced out the window, watching as the familiar scenery blurred past, taking us further and further away from the palace.

I fumbled with my phone, trying to call Maria, but the signal was suddenly lost. My vision started to blur, and an overwhelming drowsiness washed over me. I tried to stay awake, my mind racing with fear and confusion.

“Peter…please,” I whispered, but my voice felt distant, my strength fading.

A strange, sweet smell filled the car, and my head grew heavy. I struggled to keep my eyes open, my thoughts becoming increasingly disjointed.

The last thing I saw before everything went black was the silhouette of the palace receding into the distance.

When I awoke, everything was hazy. My head throbbed painfully, and my body felt unusually heavy. I tried to sit up, but my limbs wouldn’t respond.

The world around me was dark and unfamiliar, a stark contrast to the warmth and safety of the palace.

Gradually, my vision cleared, and I found myself in a dimly lit room. The walls were bare, and the only furniture was a simple bed and a small table.

I struggled to recall how I had gotten here, but the memories were fragmented and confusing.

Panic gripped me as I realized I was alone. Where was Maria? What had happened to her? And why had Peter driven me away from the palace? Fear gnawed at me, but I forced myself to stay calm, to think clearly.

I took deep breaths, trying to gather my thoughts. There had to be a way out of this. Someone would notice my absence. Nolan and Rowan would come looking for me. I just had to hold on until they found me.

I lay there, my mind raced with possibilities. Who could have orchestrated this? What did they want with me? And most importantly, how could I escape?

The sound of footsteps echoed outside the door, and I tensed, my heart pounding in my chest. The door creaked open, and a shadowy figure stepped inside. My breath caught in my throat as the figure approached, and I prepared myself for whatever was to come.

But the figure stopped short, staying in the shadows. “You’re awake,” a voice said, low and unfamiliar. “Good. We have much to discuss.”

Fear and determination surged through me. Whoever this was, whatever they wanted, I wouldn’t go down without a fight.

I would find a way back to the palace, back to Nolan and Rowan, and I would make sure they paid for taking me away.

As the figure stepped closer, I squared my shoulders, ready to face whatever lay ahead. This wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning of my fight to get back to the- ones I loved.

Orlo.
