Chapter 28 

Since Alpha had given his words, this drama was forced to come to an end. 

Aurora was curious as of why Damien helped her this time. 

But there were too many people present. She didn’t want to confront him here. 

So she went to get another two clean plates for Kaelan and herself and grabbed some food from the table. 

They found a quiet corner to sit down, away from those curious gazes. 

Kaelan still seemed angry about what happened earlier. 

He leant close to her and whispered, “Gamma, you should go to the soldier’s dining hall to have breakfast next time. The food might not be as good, but you don’t have to dine with these hypocrites.” 

Aurora rubbed his hair with a smile, “Good idea. Thanks for inviting me.” 

Kaelan beamed at her brightly. 

Those bystanders had dispersed. Damien walked up to his seat at the top and sat down. 

He didn’t spare Chloe a single glance the entire time. 

Chloe was still kneeling on the ground with tear stains on her face. She was baffled and overwhelmed. 

She couldn’t figure out why Damien suddenly became so harsh on her. 

“Quick,” Hellen nudged at her and hissed. “Go to him. Now.” 

Chloe bit her lips reluctantly. 

She didn’t want to face Damien’s wrath. 

But she had to figure out the reason of his sudden change of attitude. 

Struggling to pull herself up from the floor, Chloe went to grab a plate of food: shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, spring salad, and a glass of iced tea, all of which Damien’s favorite. 

Then she carefully came to sit with Damien. And pushed the plate over to him. 

“Damien…” 

Chloe peeked at his reaction.

Chapter 28 

“I get you some breakfast. Please have some.” 

Damien averted his head and gave Chloe a cold glare, causing her heart to jump up to her throat. 

He didn’t say anything 

And simply dragged the plate to himself and started eating. 

Chloe quietly let out a long sigh of relief. 

She knew Damien couldn’t be mad at her for too long. 

Nevertheless, she was the love of Damien’s life.. 

“Damien, do you know what happened last night? About the room change?” 

Chloe gently tugged at the corner of his sleeves and asked in a pitiful voice: 

“I know Aurora is an important guest, and I respect her very much. But still, she can’t abuse her power and toss me out of my room! She is such a bully…” 

CRACK. 

The fork in Damien’s hands was bent between his fingers. 

He turned to her with an unreadable look on his face. 

“What else to you want to say?” he asked. 

Chloe gulped down nervously. 

She sensed a hint of danger behind Damien’s voice. But she still decided to take the risk and said: 

“I just think she shouldn’t be such a tyrant all the time. I get it–she is a Gamma now. But it doesn’t hurt to show some respect to you and the other members in this pack from time to time. She is in our territory, on our soil, for 

Christ’s sake!” 

Chloe pouted in fume and added: 

…Aurora really doesn’t take you seriously, Damien.” 

Damien narrowed his eyes at her. 

After a short pause, he spoke up slowly, “You said Aurora didn’t take me seriously–but what about you, Chloe?” 

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat in panic.

“W–What about me?” she stuttered. 

Her chin was grabbed by a large hand the next second.

“Do YOU take me seriously, Chloe?” Damien stared at her, asking in a dark tone. “If you do, then why did you dare lie to me? Why didn’t you tell me that it was you who put Aurora in the basement in the first place!” 

All blood was drained from Chloe’s face. 

Her lips twitched. 

No word could come out of her mouth. 

“Thinking of a way to defend yourself?” Damien asked murkily. “I have talked to the maids and the concierge. Save your breath now.” 

“I…I don’t know what you are talking about…” 

“Don’t you?” Damien snorted, “Who gave you the power to disrespect Aurora? Do you seriously believe that I will pardon all of your behaviors just because you saved my life once in the past? Well, you couldn’t be more wrong 

about that!” 

Chloe shivered in fear. 

She thought Damien could tolerate all her mistakes. 

He was a cruel Alpha. But he had a soft spot for her. 

This was the first time he intimidated her with his Alpha aura. 

“Damien…” 

Chloe twitched her lips with tears streaming down her cheek. 

“I–I’m sorry. I really am! But that is not my idea–my mom did this! I told her that it was a bad idea but she 

wouldn’t listen…” 

Damien frowned, “Hellen? She 

did this to Aurora? But they were families…” 

Chloe sensed his change of attitude and quickly said, “Aurora is telling everyone now that she has an Alpha 

brother. Maybe Hellen is mad with her for abandoning her own family? And Aurora clearly hates the Ravenwoods for disowning her in the past. Whatever the reason, it is none of my business 

Damien frowned.

Chapter 28 

After a long pause, he said, “Be nice to Aurora. Now leave me alone.” 

Chloe didn’t need him to ask again before quickly getting up on her feet and escaping the scene. 

When she was gone, Damien closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. 

How could Helien and Paul bully Aurora like that? 

And what else had they done before? 

Did Chloe really have nothing to do with this? 

Damien suddenly remembered what those maids said about Aurora working as a maid when she was Luna… 

He clenched his fists till his knuckles turned white. 

His Luna got abused under his watch. Yet he didn’t know anything about that. 

Why didn’t he know anything! 

Damien raised up his head and searched for Aurora in the dining hall. 

He found her in the corner. 

She was sitting with a handsome 

young man. 

That man just fed her a grape and she was giving him the brightest smile that Damien hadn’t seen in ages. 

Then they stood up and left the dining hall together.

A strong, bitter feeling surged up in Damien’s chest. He suddenly jumped from his seat and rushed towards them. 

Aurora and Kaelan left the dining hall and were going back to the training field. 

They just stepped out of the door when a series of heavy footsteps came behind them. 

“Auroral” 

Damien caught up with them. 

He blocked their way and stared at Aurora, “Can I talk to you for a moment?” 

Aurora raised an eyebrow, “We have nothing to talk about.”

She had calmed down already. She didn’t care about why Damien took her side this time. 

Whatever he did, it didn’t concern her anymore. 

Damien’s jaw tensed.. 

“Please.” he said abruptly, taking a step forward. “It is about-” 

“Hey!” 

Kaelan stretched out an arm and stopped him, “You heard her. She didn’t want to talk to you!” 

Damien narrowed his eyes at this young man, “Who the fuck are you? Get the hell out of here before I rip you fucking throat!” 

Damien found this young man very annoying. 

He wanted to gouge his eye out every time Aurora smiled at this bastard! 

Kaelan faced him bravely, “I am Gamma Aurora’s soldier. It is my duty to protect her.” 

Clear tension was building between these two large men. 

“Move aside, kid.” Damien hissed coldly, “Don’t force me to dirty my hand with your filthy blood.” 

“Are you seriously threatening my soldier in front of me?” Aurora hissed. “You will have to go through me if you want to touch him.” 

Damien froze. 

A flaming rage flickered across his face before he said, “I just want to talk about you…about Chloe and everything in the past. Maybe there is some misunderstanding between us.” 

“But I am done with all those stuffs already. If you want to talk, come to the training field and we can talk business. Besides that, we are done.” Aurora said aloofly. 

She held Kaelan’s hand, and they walked way. 

Damien stood on his spot motionlessly and watched their backs disappeared into the outdoor sunshine. 

A week later. 

More and more people were pouring into the Silver Blade Pack for this unpresidential united training.
