Reckless Marriage Unyielding Love

Chapter 45

Chapter 45

The next day, there was a complete turnover within the news agencies in Xosa that had reported on the news from Septem Nightclub the day before. Several mysterious disappearances left everyone bewildered and speculating that it was somehow tied to the nightclub. The police were baffled, only managing to detain two minor players for routine questioning. They had to release them due to lack of evidence.

The rumors spread quickly, even reaching the Salvatore Group. While people gossiped about the news agency, another hot topic kept circulating- Mikayla was marrying Carlos in a strategic alliance.

Early in the morning, Mikayla arrived at the office and overheard her colleagues gossiping. She ignored them and focused on her task. Holding documents that required the chairman’s signature, she entered the elevator. Unexpectedly, she bumped into Evan, the team leader of Team A

“Ms. Salvatore, you seem to be quite the charmer lately, Evan hinted with a smirk. The enclosed space was faintly scented with perfume, making him a bit restless,

“Mr. Xanders, aren’t you also enjoying love lately?” Mikayla retorted.

Evan had a reputation for flirting with other staff members, something Mikayla had noticed in casual conversations around the office. The company cafeteria truly was a hub for gossip.

“Not even a fraction of what you have achieved, Ms. Salvatore. The son of the Ludwig family has spared no expense. The advertisement spots haven’t even been dismantled yet, and I hear they still send you flowers every day. I wonder if your office can even hold all those bouquets,” Evan said with a mischievous grin, his eyes reflecting in the elevator’s mirror,

Though this wasn’t the first time Evan had seen Mikayla, every encounter left him impressed. Beautiful, elegant, and competent–these words described her but didn’t quite capture hier essence. Such a woman truly stirred one’s heart

“Don’t worry about that, Mr. Xanders. Focus on your team’s performance instead, Mikayla responded coolly, catching his subtle change in gaze through the mirror.

Evan usually restrained himself, not daring to misbehave in the company. Otherwise, he would be in deep trouble.

“Well, if work gets too tough, you could open a flower shop. The elevator doors opened, and Evan left indignantly Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Mikayla calmly pressed the close button and soon arrived at the floor where the chairman’s office was located. Due to Mikayla’s special status, Jorge had instructed that she could enter the chairman’s office directly. Seeing her approach, no one would stop her.

“Mr. Salvatore, Mikayla greeted as she walked in.

“Mikayla, you’re here,” Jorge acknowledged with a warm smile.

Mikayla handed the documents to Jorge. “Mr. Salvatore, the negotiations with Northill are done. These are the local manufacturers Maxius and I have identified that meet our criteria. But due to our specific needs, we’ll need to work with at least two to three manufacturers for phased processing and production”

“So quickly? Weren’t you saying earlier that you hadn’t found a breakthrough!” Jorge glanced briefly at the documents.

“Well, thanks to Carlos. He provided some clues. I don’t know how he knew I needed this.” Mikayla’s eyes sparkled when she mentioned Carlos.

“No wonder.” Jorge signed his name on the documents with a pen and handed Mikayla another folder. “Take a look at this”

Mikayla opened the folder, puzzled. Inside was a chart showing Salvatore Group’s stock market fluctuations, revealing a five percent increase in the past few days.

For a newly listed company, this fluctuation was normal. However, for a century–old company, such a significant rise was rare and usually indicated some unusual activity.

“I don’t know if it’s because of the recent media hype about your marriage with Carlos or someone’s intention. Pay more attention to this matter.” Jorge cautioned.

“Okay” Mikayla frowned slightly.

“I think Carlos is a great kid and suits you better than Jaxon does,” Jorge said.

“Mr. Salvatore, you’re off–topic. We don’t discuss family matters in the office. Mikayla wondered why Jorge brought up jaxon.

“Haha…” Jorge showed a fatherly smile. “Your Uncle Logan called earlier. Winona is going home today, so he invited us over for dinner.”

Logan rarely invited them for dinner. It was probably Winona’s idea. Mikayla wondered what she was up to.

“Alright. When we finish work, we’ll pick up Mrs. Salvatore and head there together, Mikayla said.

“You! Even teasing your mom “Jorge’s gaze was full of affection.

Mikayla playfully stuck out her tongue, then returned to her serious mode. “Mr. Salvatore, I’ll head down now. I’ll discuss the matter with Maxius regarding the factories.”

“Sure. Go ahead. Maxius seems capable enough to be your right–hand man, Jorge praised.

Back at the marketing department, Mikayla called Maxius into her office. “Maxius, Mr. Salvatore has approved the documents. Next, we need to choose factories. I believe the fewer factories we deal with, the better…”

“I agree. It’s best to minimize the risk of future issues, Maxius stated. He had a refined and diligent demeanor and was meticulous in his work. Even outside work, he often discussed job problems with Mikayla.

Mikayla felt it was a wise decision to bring Maxius back to assist her. He made work much easier, but she also knew it was unfair to keep such talent confined to an assistant role. If this venture succeeded, Mikayla intended to promote him to a more suitable position.

“Let’s narrow it down to three or four factories. We’ll decide who should go for the negotiations, you or me,” Mikayla said. Xosa’s largest factory, Northill, was crucial to Xucrar’s economy, rivaled only by Druobridge and Yannopolis with international collaborations.

“Okay. Here are the five I reviewed Last night. I’ll fly out to inspect them and report back to you,” Maxius replied, handing over the marked documents.

Mikayla glanced at his detailed notes, which clearly outlined each factory’s strengths and weaknesses. “Good. When do you plan to leave?”

“This afternoon,” Maxius said.

“So soon? Take Quinnlyn with you. There’s no need to report back to me. Just make the decision on–site. Mikayla trusted Maxius.

“Actually, I wanted you to come with me Maxius smiled gently. “But alas, you’re getting married again, and the company needs you here.”

“What do you mean ‘again? This is my first time!” Mikayla tossed the documents at him, hitting him squarely on the forehead.

“Oh right! Last time, things didn’t work out Maxius rolled up the documents and left, looking sheepish

Watching his retreating figure, Mikayla chuckled. But when she looked at the company’s stock troubles, her brows knit together. She felt sure they’d have some answers by tonight
