“Just now, it was a clip from a movie, Dad. We can simply choose not to watch it. It was accidentally played.” Melanie’s legs felt weak.
She now profoundly realized that Aurelia was vastly different from before.
She was incredibly ruthless.
Aurelia watched Melanie struggle, her expression a mix of amusement and seriousness.
However, Gideon stood still.
Clearly, he had a lot of faith in Melanie.
Upon realizing it was a scene from a movie, Aaron secretly let out a sigh of relief.
“So, it’s a movie.” Spencer scoffed, his gaze toward Aurelia filled with even more disdain. “Even at a time like this, she still has the mood to watch a movie.”
“Mel, you’ve always been sensible, don’t act foolishly now,” Gideon said in a stern voice.
Melanie tightly clenched her fist and nodded. “All right, I understand.”
After Gideon left, Melanie turned back to Aurelia and said in a hushed tone, “I know you despise me, but we can negotiate anything. I can’t kneel before you today, but I can offer you money.”
“I don’t need your money, get lost.“.
Aurelia no longer wished to waste words with Melanie.
She knew that Melanie could never kneel.
However, she was a woman of her word. If Melanie could kneel and bow a thousand times, she would delete the video.
Unfortunately, Melanie didn’t do so.
The video wasn’t yet meant to be known by the Leedon family. After having had a bit of fun with Melanie, she was in a good mood.
“You!” Melanie was livid, she could hardly resist the urge to strangle Aurelia herself.
Upon seeing that Aurelia had already exited the album and had no intention of playing the video, she finally let out a sigh of relief.
She had to come up with a plan, a solution that would put an end to her worries about the video being discovered by others, once and for all.
Chapter 165 Falled To Cherish The Opportunity
Two more hours had passed.
Just as Aurelia was growing impatient and about to leave, the lights in the operating room went
Out
First off, the doctor emerged.
Gideon and his family immediately stepped forward.
“Doctor, how is my wife doing?” Gideon asked, stepping forward with a hint of nervousness in his
tone.
Aurelia stood behind their family, her gaze deeply fixed on the doctor, then she glanced again at the operating room.
The doctor looked at the family gathered before him, his tone grave as he spoke. “The patient has suffered severe damage to both legs and the liver due to crushing injuries. Unfortunately, we couldn’t save the legs.”
Following that, the doctor discussed some aspects of Luna’s condition.
Having just undergone surgery, she was not yet out of danger and needed to be observed in the intensive care unit.
Hence, no one in the Leedon family had seen Luna.
Of course, they were taken aback by the doctor’s words at that time..
“Couldn’t save her legs?” Gideon was momentarily overwhelmed by the shock, causing him to stagger back several steps.
This implied that Luna would be disabled from then on!
The three Leedon brothers all wore expressions of astonishment on their faces.
It took a long while before regaining composure.
Melanie was so shocked that she couldn’t utter a single word. Her mother’s leg couldn’t be saved? Did that mean… she would have to spend the rest of her life bedridden, dependent on others for care?
Once the doctor had given all necessary instructions, he left to attend to his many other duties.
Several members of the Leedon family stood disoriented and distraught at the door.
“How could this happen?” Spencer’s eyes were already brimming with tears.
Aaron’s face was also deathly pale.
Benjamin’s lips were tightly pressed together.

worse.
Aurelia’s gaze was icy cold. When she had woken up from a brush with death, they had all seemed indifferent. They even had the audacity to laugh and joke around her sickbed, with Luna feeling. fortunate about her own good luck.
But now, they all appeared to be quite taken aback and worried.
Despite failing to preserve her legs, Luna hadn’t descended to the point of being paraplegic. From this perspective, it seemed that Luna was indeed very fortunate.
Several people stood dumbfounded in their tracks.
Some time had passed once again.
It was the doctor who suggested that they should go home and rest while waiting for the hospital’s notification. When the time came, someone would take over their shift for care.
They belatedly snapped back to reality.
“How could this happen…” Gideon murmured to himself.
What on earth had the Leedon family done wrong? Why did various incidents keep happening to them, time and again?
Aurelia watched their panic unfold with an icy gaze.
It should have been like this in her past life.
She had simply been too naive.
“Since the surgery was successful, I need to leave for another matter.” Aurelia glanced at the time, it was already eleven at night.
Her flight was scheduled for ten in the morning the next day, which required her to be at the airport by eight.
There was no time for her to stand around watching their display of tragic love.
“Wait! Your mother is in this condition and you still want to leave?” Gideon once again stopped Aurelia.
How could she be so heartless?
Aaron also frowned, observing that there wasn’t a trace of worry or even a hint of sadness on Aurelia’s face. He said in a low voice, “You weren’t like this before.”
“You’ll get what’s coming to you sooner or later!” Spencer was seething with anger.
They were heartbroken beyond measure, yet Aurelia seemed to behave like a stranger, showing no concern whatsoever for their mother’s wellbeing!

Aurelia looked at the whole family accusing her shamelessly and laughed. “The doctor has dismissed all of you, if you all wish to stay here, that’s your business. I have no obligation to support Mdm. Campbell. If you love your wife this much, and are so devoted to your parents, then figure out how to take care of a bedridden patient. Don’t play the morality card with me here, where were you all before this?”
Given their self–centered nature, they might have taken good care of Luna for a couple of days. But in the long run, they would definitely start to see her as an inconvenient obstacle.
“You! That’s your mother! Can you really bear to leave her behind? You should move back home. now, and take care of her there after this. We’re all busy, and Mel’s health isn’t the best, she can’t be overworked. You’re the only one free.” Gideon issued the command without a second thought.
Aurelia was truly astounded by Gideon’s audacity. She laughed, “You’re insane!”
Who gave Gideon the courage?
Melanie had remained silent all along. The thought of Luna being confined to a bed in the future, dependent on others for even the most basic needs, made her want to hide away.
She had no desire to stay home and take care of things.
Now, she found herself particularly wishing for Aurelia to return home.
ex
“Aurelia! This is your opportunity to prove yourself,” Spencer exclaimed angrily. “As long as you take good care of mom, we will all accept you as part of the family!”
Aaron furrowed his brows. “Auri, come home.”
Benjamin spoke in a grave tone. “After all, you are part of our Leedon family. We are giving you a chance to return now, and we’ve provided a way for you to save face. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.”
“Aurelia,” Melanie began, “After mom wakes up from this disaster, she’s going to be devastated. If you could be there for her through this tough time, I’m sure you’ll become incredibly important
to her.”
Once again, Aurelia truly experienced the shamelessness of these people.
The audacity to parade such shamelessness so openly and unapologetically, as if it were only natural, was unique to them alone.
“The whole lot of you must be out of your minds. Since you’re already at the hospital, you all might as well get checked out! Stop wandering around like lunatics.” After dropping this remark, Aurelia left decisively.
She needed to get a good night’s sleep that night as she had a flight to catch the next day.
