Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 95

“You’re Nydia’s sister, it’s only right,” Jesse said.

Willette shyly bit her lip and raised her glass. “Thank you, I’ll drink to that.”

As Nydia hesitated whether to drink or not, Jesse told her directly, “Don’t drink.”

Nydia glanced at him before silently putting down her glass and lowering her head.

In Willette’s eyes, Jesse obviously didn’t like Nydia, and by saying that to her, he was definitely showing his love for her.

“Sister, are you really going to call off the engagement with Barclay?” Nydia asked after taking a sip of water.

Both Willette and Jesse looked at her thoughtfully when she asked that question.

Without waiting for Willette to answer, Nydia continued to persuade her, “You two have such a good relationship. You’ve just been busy lately and neglected you. Sister, please think it over carefully. After all, if you let a good man slip away, you’ll regret it.”

She said it lightly, but the meaning behind it was quite different.

Willette was angry inside. She regretted not marrying Jesse back then and letting Nydia marry him instead. Now, the Pascall family had regained its former glory, while the Evans family remained stagnant. “Well, I’ll think about it carefully.”

“Anyway, thank you for having dinner with me and comforting me. I feel much better now. Let me drink to you again.” She continued to toast Jesse, who didn’t refuse and drank again.

Willette had the feeling that Jesse was a bit submissive to her.

Her phone rang, and it was Barclay asking where she was. She told him about the situation here.

“What? You want me to come over? We’re almost finished eating.”

“Okay, then come over.” She couldn’t refuse directly.

With a hint of apology, she said to Jesse, “He happened to be nearby and didn’t have dinner yet, do you mind?”

“No, I don’t mind,” Jesse replied, and Nydia remained silent.

Sure enough, Barclay arrived shortly after.

“Sorry to bother you guys?”

“Nydia, you look beautiful today!” Barclay’s gaze towards Nydia was filled with admiration.

However, Jesse’s voice poured down like a bucket of cold water.

“You did bother us.”

Barclay was taken aback and only then realized that Jesse’s answer was in response to his polite words earlier.

“Well, I had to come and disturb you guys. It’s rare for us to gather together, otherwise Mr. Pascall would be surrounded by two beautiful ladies, and I’m afraid he wouldn’t be able to handle it alone.”

“Sister, look at how jealous brother-in-law is,” Nydia immediately interjected to ease the tension. Otherwise, she was afraid that Jesse would say more sarcastic things and the situation would escalate. “Brother-in-law, you’re being too stingy. Sister just said you neglected her earlier.”

“I’ve been busy lately, so my energy is limited,” Barclay sighed. He meant it as a boast, but Jesse suddenly said, “Our company recently launched a new drug that can make men more energetic. Mr. Evans, you can give it a try.”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“…”

Nydia pretended to eat with her head down, but her mouth twitched from trying to hold back laughter. Jesse was too harsh.

Barclay’s face became colder, and he said displeasedly, “Didn’t you just win such a big order before? It’s just too busy right now. After this period of time, it will be better. But there’s no doubt that Mr. Pascall’s supplements are top-notch. Have you tried them yourself?”
