Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 76

Jesse went to Nydia’s room and touched her forehead, which was indeed hot. He called Vincent and told him about Nydia’s condition.

“Daddy, what’s wrong with Mommy? Is she having a fever?” Molly asked.

“Yeah, she has a fever.”

“Why did Mommy get a fever?”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

“We’ll know when the doctor comes.”

Jesse probably knew why Nydia had a fever, but he didn’t want to tell the children. “You guys go out to eat first.”

“No, we have to stay here with Mommy!” Molly didn’t want to go out, and although Tavish didn’t speak, he didn’t go out either.

“You can’t help anything here. You’ll be angry if Mommy knows you’re not eating when she gets better,” he looked at Tavish, telling him with his eyes not to be stubborn with Molly.

Tavish understood his eyes and took Molly out. “Let’s eat first and come back to see Mommy after we finish eating.”

“Okay.”

After the two children went out, the bedroom became quiet. Jesse wasn’t used to staying in this bedroom. It was originally their master bedroom, but they only slept together in the first month of their marriage. After that, he moved out and got a new bedroom, and they slept separately.

Nydia’s cheeks were flushing because of the fever, with an unhealthy redness, and there were even beads of sweat on her forehead. Jesse reached out to touch her forehead again.

“Jesse?” She spoke, her voice hoarse.

Her eyelids were heavy, very heavy, and it was hard for her to open her eyes. When she saw Jesse sitting by the bed, she was confused.

“Am I still dreaming?”

Jesse was about to withdraw his hand, but Nydia grabbed it. Her hand was hot, while his hand was cool and comfortable.

“I’m so hot, let me hold it for a while,” she murmured, “it feels so good.” This satisfied sigh made the muscles on Jesse’s arm tighten. Soon, the temperature on his arm was no longer cool, and it started to rise.

“Why isn’t it cool anymore?” Nydia frowned, as if she doubted her own judgment. She even put it on her face and pressed Jesse’s palm against her cheek. “It’s really not cool anymore.”

As Nydia puckered and pursed her lips, seemingly defenseless, Jesse had never seen her like this before. He should have broken the atmosphere at this moment, but he remained silent and stayed there quietly.

Nydia, who was in a dazed state, gradually realized that something was not right. Wasn’t this dream too peaceful? She looked around the room, it was her bedroom. She then looked at Jesse’s face, but the indoor light was too dim, making his face appear hazy.

Why was Jesse’s hand getting warmer and warmer? Suddenly, she pinched Jesse’s arm and he frowned and withdrew his hand.

“Isn’t this a dream?”

“…”, Jesse was skeptical of her pinching someone else in her dream.

“You have a fever,” Jesse said calmly.

“What? I have a fever?” Nydia sat up suddenly, but the movement caused a severe headache and pain in her back. She winced and said, “My head hurts and my back hurts.”

She felt pain all over her body.

“Vincent will come over later,” Jesse said.

“Oh.” Nydia nodded, then suddenly realized something and immediately got up, ignoring the pain in her head and back. She opened the closet and took out some clothes. “I’ll change first.”

Then, without caring that Jesse was still there, she took off her dress.
