Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 61

“I’ll go ask if there’s any medicine for bruises.”

The nurse left their room and went over to Vincent’s side.

“Dr. Wallaker, do you have any topical medicine for bruises? Mrs. Pascall has a large bruise on her arm.”C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

“I didn’t bring it since it’s for external injuries. Is it serious?”

“It’s not too serious. It should heal in about a week if she takes care of it.”

“I’ll have someone go buy the medicine later,” Jesse said.

“Okay.”

After Vincent and the nurse finished treating her, they left. Today, the atmosphere in the Pascall family was not good, so it was impossible to ask them to stay for dinner.

“Mom, Dad, we’re heading back now,” Jesse said, taking Nydia with him.

They sat in the car. Nydia hunched over, unable to stop herself from shaking and afraid to lean back against the seat in case she bumped into her injury.

In comparison, Jesse seemed unharmed, except for his slightly pale lips.

The car was quiet. Nydia knew that Jesse wouldn’t speak unless she did.

“The situation online is getting worse. Shouldn’t we intervene?” Nydia spoke up.

“I’ve already taken care of it.”

Okay, there was nothing else to talk about.

“I had someone investigate, and it seems to be related to Mrs. Wollridge, Louie’s wife.” Nydia continued.

Jesse’s brows furrowed, and his expression was displeased.

Seeing him like this, Nydia’s heart sank. What did he mean?

“You seem to know a lot of people,” she said tentatively.

That didn’t sound like a compliment.

“I hired a hacker last time to investigate Marty’s case, and since this also falls under the hacker category, I asked him to help out with this too.”

“Do you already know it was Mrs. Wollridge who did it?” Noticing Jesse’s lack of surprise and all his attention focused on her, Nydia could tell that he probably already found out.

“Yeah.”

Since that’s the case, she won’t say much more. If he said he would take care of it, he’ll take care of it properly.

Nydia sighed inwardly. This man clearly cared for her and was concerned about her, but he always had a cold and impatient demeanor that pushed her away. It was really frustrating.

Suddenly, the car braked hard. Nydia wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and wasn’t sitting firmly, so she was thrown forward. Jesse’s reflexes were fast, and he pulled her into his arms, but he hit the seat himself and let out a muffled groan.

“Sir, ma’am, I’m sorry!” The driver immediately apologized, and an electric bike rode away. If the driver hadn’t braked in time, they would have crashed into the bike that suddenly appeared.

“It’s okay.” Jesse said in a low voice.

The car started moving again, but not very quickly.

Nydia raised her head from his embrace, and Jesse looked down, but he froze.

A tear was rolling down Nydia’s eyes.

His body instantly tensed, and he didn’t know where to put his hands, eventually placing them on his lap, fingers curling up.

“Did it hurt just now?” Nydia choked out.

Every time she was in danger, he would rush over, regardless of his own situation. Even if he didn’t have any injuries, that bump just now would have hurt him. Not to mention he had so many injuries on his body.

“Just take care of yourself!” Jesse turned his face away, not looking at her eyes again.
