Chapter 38
Willette and Nydia were a bit confused.
Tavish, on the other hand, looked normal, holding a bottle of imported green tea.
“No,” Willette shook her head.
“Aunt Willette, you look tired. You should drink some green tea. My dad said green tea is good for beauty and anti-aging,” Tavish insisted.
Nydia chimed in, “Give it a try. The green tea tastes really good.”This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Fine.”
Tavish approached her with the green tea.
“Hey, Mommy, does Aunt Willette have wrinkles under her eyes?” He pointed to Willette’s eyes and asked.
“Aunt Willette is still young. How could she have wrinkles? Take your sister to play.”
Willette unconsciously touched under her eyes and looked panicked.
“Mommy, lying is wrong. You’re setting a bad example. Aunt Willette does have wrinkles. One, two, three… seven of them,” Tavish said, making Willette angry, “Shut up!” She yelled at Tavish, who was startled. Nydia pulled him over, “Sister, what are you doing? He’s just a child!”
“…”
But Tavish continued, “Mommy, you don’t have a single wrinkle under your eyes. You’re so beautiful and young!” His words hit Willette like a barrage of arrows, making her angry enough to want to hit him.
Nydia covered his mouth and apologized to Willette, “Sister, don’t mind him. He’s just a child and talks nonsense.”
“I’m leaving.” Willette couldn’t take it anymore and got up to leave.
“Sister, don’t go. You just arrived. Are you going to be angry with Tavish? Are you blaming me for not educating him?” Nydia lowered her head, looking very aggrieved.
Willette picked up the unopened green tea and handed it to Nydia, “You drink it.”
“I have some at home. You don’t get to drink imported green tea every day.”
“…” Was she showing off?
This was supposed to be Mrs. Pascall’s identity!
“Oh, by the way, I remember something. You knew about Tavish and I falling into the water last time,” Nydia said.
“Yes, I know. What’s the matter?”
Nydia had been observing Willette’s expression while talking about the incident. She saw nervousness on Willette’s face, which meant she was definitely involved in the matter.
“We’ve been investigating the incident and we finally have some leads.”
“Leads? Have you found the people who harmed you?”
Willette looked surprised.
“We now know what they look like, and we’ll probably catch them soon.”
“But didn’t you say it was Jesse who did it before? Wasn’t it you who told me that you suspected him?” Willette said, suddenly realizing Tavish and Molly were present, and covered her mouth. “Since you know what they look like, you should arrest them. That’s outrageous!”
“What? Did I say that? Wasn’t it you who told me you suspected Jesse?” Nydia asked.
“Why should I say such a thing? Jesse is Tavish’s dad!”
“Yes, surely we can find out the truth!” She was right, but Willette grew more nervous.
“Nydia, I remember I have some unfinished business at the office. I must go back.”
“Don’t you want to stay for dinner?”
