Chapter 1603: Promise

With a loud gasp, the entire room was shocked after Lindsay's statement. Everyone stared at the

young girl in the green dress and black hair with horror in their eyes.

While it is true that there are brain transplant surgeries in medicine, they can only be performed on

dead bodies and even then, success is not guaranteed. The owner of "Sacred Pearl" still looked so

young, why would she have such an absurd idea?

Robert's face turned pale as he glared coldly at Lindsay. However, she ignored his angry gaze and kept

her eyes fixed on Selena.

Selena didn't say anything but her gaze became even colder for a moment.

Lindsay lowered her eyelashes and said softly: "I know that what I'm doing may upset you or seem

unfair to you. It may even seem like I'm trying to take advantage of your kindness but this is all I have

to offer... I want freedom."

She wanted freedom but didn't want to lose her home. She could only try her best with everything she

had to exchange for it.

Selena chuckled: "What do you want?" Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

If Lindsay was so attached to 717 then why would she help Robert go against her?

Lindsay looked up at Selena seriously and said: "Freedom."

She had pursued only one thing her entire life.

Selena's expression grew colder.

If Lindsay was a pure villain, then cleaning house would be the solution.

But she was sick!

She wasn't irredeemable, just controlled and imprisoned by Robert in the spiritual world. Killing her like

this would be a pity.

Selena looked at her coldly. "I'll give you one more chance. If you stop now, I won't hold it against you."

Lindsay shook her head. "There are things I want to fight for."

Selena smiled as she looked at the serious young girl across from her.

Although Lindsay chose to oppose her, it made Selena angry but also proud of Lindsay's pride and

strength as the first person who dared to challenge Selena openly in the field of mechanics.

Lindsay respected Selena but also wanted to defeat her.

Looking into Lindsay's eyes, Selena felt an urge for victory that she hadn't felt in a long time. She said

to Lindsay, "For our teachers' sake, I promise you."

Lindsay blinked and a happy smile appeared on her face as she bowed gratefully towards Selena.

Then Selena added: "Also 717 doesn't need your brain. If you die, I will have someone cremate your

body completely."

To Selena, the idea of a brain transplant was against the laws of nature. Could a stupid person really

become smart just by having a smart person's brain implanted? Selena didn't think so.

Lindsay was thrilled. "Thank you so much," she said before returning to her seat with the Sacred Pearl

in hand.

She rubbed her fingers over the bone carving and turned to Diana, who stood nearby with an intense

gaze. "As a special researcher invited to Central City and someone who knows how to activate Sacred

Pearl by chance, let Miss Barrett demonstrate it for everyone."

Lindsay handed over the Sacred Pearl to Diana, whose eyes turned crimson as she accepted it. At that

moment, Robert and Freddie sitting at the edge of the conference room both held their breaths tightly.

Selena watched calmly without any sign of nervousness or intervention as Diana grasped onto this

exquisite bone puppet and after a moment suddenly looked up at her with an unwavering stare.
