Divorce 208
The top floor's treasure racks were far superior to those downstairs. These antiques required meticulous care as they were all genuine treasures and could be easily damaged if not handled properly. Unlike the downstairs collection, this floor displayed authentic antiques with glass covers labeled with their names and history. Yasmine and Yonas spent half the day at the top floor, finally deciding to buy an antique. Once outside, Yasmine looked at him with surprise for a long moment, "Why are you helping me?"
"It's not just about helping the Sanchez family, it's also in my own interest," Yonas replied, his gaze deep and solemn.
Yasmine decided not to ask further, perhaps it had to do with interests. Although the White family and the Russell family have been family friends for generations, Yonas naturally wouldn't want to see the White family surpass them. After dropping Yasmine off at home, Yonas headed back to his own residence. Chucks spent the entire day at Paragon Hotel feeling restless, his mind repeatedly picturing Lucy. Even though he couldn't remember what exactly happened that night at his place, he clearly recalled Lucy's slightly tipsy yet captivating appearance.
"Chuck, why are are you daydreaming?" Yonas asked.
Chuck snapped back to reality, carefully placing the chicken soup at his side before handing it to Yonas, "Nothing, not thinking about anything."
looked at him puzzled, he he hadn't asked anything yet! Right now, he didn't have time to dwell on Chuck's issues, his mind heavy with thoughts of Yasmine's distant demeanor. Even though the situation at Anteque Curios & Relics had lessened her hostility somewhat, what he wanted was much
more than that. He took the soup and left. Chuck slumped into the seat, all energy drained from him. His mind had been wandering all day, maybe he was just too bored. After meeting Lucy, he couldn't stop thinking about her; this feeling was new to him. In all those years, he had never thought about someone so much that she occupied every corner of his mind.
Late at night, Chuck found himself at the bar once more, drinking away his thoughts. His friends were bouncing in the dance floor, flashing neon lights twisting everywhere. After a few drinks, Chuck was already starting to feel dizzy. "Chuck, it's no fun drinking here alone. Why not join us for a dance?" his friends called out.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Chuck poured himself another drink, "Nah, you guys go ahead." Soon enough, he was slumped over, drunk, in his seat, mumbling Lucy's name. His friends, seeing him like this,
felt a gang of 1999.
Lucy, she finishing up at the factory, drove home. She had never really taken a good look at the 1nch Industries, nor had she ever contributed much to the family's burdens. Her visit to the factory made her realize how much her father was shouldering on his own. Dragging her weary body, she was about to open the door when she was stopped. "Ms. Lynch, could you wait a moment? an unfamiliar man blocked her way. took a deep breath, the unpleasant memories of that day flashed in her mind. But secing no malice in the man's eyes, she was slightly relieved. "What is it?" she asked. The man quickly replied, "Chuck's drunk, and he keeps saying your name. Could you come with me to check on him?"

"No!" Lucy resisted, opening the door to leave. Just hearing Chuck's name now filled her with dread. What happened that day wasn't what she intended, and she was sure Chuck regretted it as much as she did. As she was about to step out, Chuck stumbled in, grabbing her hand, "Lucy, don't go!" His cheeks eks were flushed, just like Lucy's had been that day.
The smell of alcohol was all over him, and Lucy pushed him away in disgust. "Chuck, what are you doing here?" Memories, like shattered fragments, rushed back at her, forcing her to recall everything she wished to forget, replaying like a scene right in front of her. "Lucy, don't leave." Chuck's head was pounding with each word.
he's yours to deal with." And with that, they dashed off, leaving her behind.
His friend turned to Lucy and said, "Ms. Lync decided to leave, Chuck suddenly looped his arm through hers. She felt a wave of frustration wash over her as she pushed Chuck away. "What, what are you doing?"
Lucy stared in shock. "You guys...". Just as she
"You think you can just leave after taking advantage? All the benefits and no responsibility?" Chuck held onto her arm tightly.
"Who's taking advantage here?" Lucy was furious, wishing she could push him to the ground. Wasn't she the victim i all this?
Chuck clung to her arm, refusing to let go. Lucy looked around nervously. This was right outside her house; if her parents saw this, it would be a disaster. "What do you want? Let go of me now!" Lucy awkwardly pushed Chuck's hand away and hurriedly entered the house. Yonas drove away from Morgan's house, feeling despondent, carrying the chicken soup he had intended for Yasmine. But Yasmine didn't even open the door for him and sent him away. He had hoped that after everything at Anteque Curios & Relics, Yasmine's attitude towards him might change slightly. Clearly, it hadn't.

He returned home, still feeling despondent about the chicken soup, only to find Chuck lying on the ground at his doorstep. With a frown, he helped Chuck up. "Chuck, wake up. He could smell the strong scent of alcohol on Chuck and realized tha must be drunk. But

would he end up here after getting drunk?
why Chuck slowly opened his eyes, "Yonas, you're back?" He grabbed Y**'s hand, getting up unsteadily. "Yonas, have a drink with me." Not satisfied with his current half-drunk state, he wanted his consciousness to blur so he wouldn't think of Lucy anymore. Coincidentally, Yonas had also faced rejection at Yasmine's place today, so he replied softly: "Alright."
Late at night, the two men sat on the open-air couch, bottles sc**ed on the table. They didn't even bother with glasses.
Yonas let out a bitter laugh and asked, "What's up with you? Heartbroken?"
Chuck shivered, even the hand holding the bottle trembled slightly. He laughed repeatedly, "Yonas! How could I possibly be heartbroken? Only fools get heartbroken."
Yonas took another sip, "Besides that, I can't figure out what else could hurt you like this."
"What about you? You seem down today. Still having a spat with Ms. Sanchez?" Chuck Slurred his words as he spoke.
Yonas pressed his thin lips together in a proud, faint smile. "I don't think we're having a spat -she probably just doesn't want to see me anymore... His eyes dimmed, showing a rare hint of exhaustion.
The two kept drinking bottle after bottle. Although they started with beer, Chuck wasn't satisfied with the alcohol level. He grabbed a bottle of red wine from Y** wine cabinet. The dark red liquid poured into the wi**ss, releasing a rich bittersweet aroma that filled the air.
Red wine is meant to be savored, but all Chuck wanted was to get drunk. He downed it in one gulp, without tasting its flavor, feeling only the s**y bitterness as it went down. He coughed hard, and after a second glass, finally passed out on the couch. The wine glass slid from his hand and fell to the ground, luckily onto the grass.
