Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 94

Although Donna was dazed from her slumber, she perked up the moment she saw Scott stepping through the door behind Naomi. “You!” she muttered, pointing at Scott as though she could not believe her eyes.

Naomi straightened up and glanced at her mother. “Mom, Scott’s here to see you and Dad.”

Donna snapped out of her stupor and turned to stare at Naomi. She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out.

What was he doing here to see them? Why did he need to visit them now that they were divorced?

Donna could not wrap her head around this.

Before she could piece together what was going on, Scott took off his shoes and slid his feet into the slippers Naomi brought for him. “Hello, Mom.”

Mom?

Donna was so stunned she could not even utter a word.

Why was he calling her that? He and Naomi were already divorced, for God’s sake!

Naomi could understand how her mother felt. She was just as shellshocked when they found out Scott

was here to see them too.

However, now that Scott was here, she had to play a good host, so she gestured at the couch and said, “Please sit. I’ll go make us something to drink.”

Donna was about to say that she could do it instead, but she stopped herself just in time.

Naomi and Scott were already divorced, and Naomi already had another love interest. It would not be appropriate for Naomi and Scott to spend too much time around each other, so she needed to keep Naomi as far away from Scott as possible.

Donna nodded. “Go on, my dear.”

Naomi disappeared into the kitchen. Donna turned to glance at Scott, whose towering height made the room seem half the size it was.

“Sit down,” she said to him.

“Thank you.

With that, she sat down on the couch, and Scott followed suit. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

She stared at the man before her in his tailored suit. As displeased as she was, she had to behave in front of her guest, and so she plastered a smile on her face and said, “Dean has already gone to bed. He’s got an early start to the day tomorrow, so I won’t be waking him for this.”

If this was Charles who came to visit them, she would go inside to wake Dean in an instant, but since

it was Scott, there was no need for that.

Scott knew exactly what she meant, but he did not take it to heart. “It’s fine. I think Dad needs the rest

too.”

Dad?

Donna was even more infuriated by this, but she tried her best to remain calm. “Is your grandmother well?”

“Yes, she’s doing fine.”

“That’s great to hear.”

Their conversation consisted mainly of Donna asking questions and Scott answering them. The atmosphere was as cold as the North Pole.

Naomi, who was busying herself in the kitchen, could hear the displeasure in her mother’s voice. She brewed a pot of tea as fast as she could and returned to the living room. She placed one cup in front of Scott, and then in front of her mother.

“Naomi, you’ve been out all day. It’s getting late now. Why don’t you wash up and get ready for bed?” Donna said.

Naomi paused, then glanced at Scott.

Scott was sipping on his tea and did not even flinch at Donna’s words. It was as though he was oblivious to what Donna was hinting at.

“It’s fine, Mom. I’ll watch some television with you.”

She did not want the rest of the night to go on in silence, and she did not want her mother to continue giving Scott the cold shoulder like this.

Donna knew exactly what Naomi was trying to do. Naomi was always a forgiving person; although she and Scott were divorced, she still spoke of him with respect and treated him with kindness. At the thought of this, she grabbed hold of Naomi’s hand and said, “Have you forgotten what Charles told you? You need to start sleeping early. Go on. You don’t want Charles to worry, do you?”

It was clear she was saying this to spite Scott.

Naomi sighed. “Mom, it’s late now. Why don’t you go to bed first? I just need to talk to Scott for a minute.”
