Chapter 49
It was the voice of a woman, and it sounded unfamiliar.
Naomi’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she looked over. Her expression subtly changed.
The person outside the door was wearing a snug V–neck long–sleeved knit sweater, paired with straight casual trousers. Her hair formed large waves, and her well–defined features were graced with light makeup.
It was Olivia, the apple of Scott’s eye.
Naomi recognized her at a glance, and at that moment, her heart stirred.
Olivia held a fruit basket in her hand and cradled flowers in her arms, gazing at the person inside with a serene, plain appearance.
She intended to visit Sasha’s savior last night, but by the time everything settled down, it was already too late. Fearing she might disturb someone’s rest, she decided not to come and that she could come the following morning.
She personally bought flowers and a fruit basket to express gratitude to this lifesaver.
Little did she know, Naomi was Sasha’s savior.
Olivia looked at Naomi, the long hair flowing down her shoulders, her gentle face resembling a noblewoman. Olivia smiled subtly.
She glanced at Naomi’s hand wrapped in gauze, then stepped back to check the room number.
At that moment, her smile deepened.
“It seems I wasn’t wrong after all.” Olivia, still holding flowers and a fruit basket, walked toward
Naomi.
Naomi’s gaze shifted lightly, but she remained silent.
The two women looked at each other, and it seemed the atmosphere in the ward had changed.
“Scott is busy with something. Since I have a bit of time, I’m here to thank Sasha’s savior on Scott’s behalf!” Olivia walked up to Naomi and handed her the flowers.
She looked at Naomi smilingly as if she was genuinely there to thank Naomi.
Naomi, with a gaze that openly revealed her thoughts, smiled slightly and said, “Thank you.” Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
As Naomi said this, she raised her hand.
Olivia, as if just realizing, apologized, “I’m sorry. I forgot your hand isn’t convenient.”
She took back the flowers.
At this moment, Donna reacted and looked at Naomi, then hastily said, “Give it to me.”
Olivia silently handed the flowers and fruit basket to Donna.
Over the years, Olivia had become more beautiful. Naomi looked at her and said gently, “It’s nothing much. You don’t need to worry about it.”
Olivia was there when Naomi married Scott, including when she and Scott toasted the guests together. At the time, she did not know that Olivia was the one in Scott’s heart.
She did not think much about what Olivia said at the time, including Olivia’s expression. She did not pay attention.
It was not until later, when she and Scott attended a relative’s wedding together, that she overheard some words in the restroom. The gist was that no one expected Scott to marry her instead of Olivia. That was when she found out that they had known each other for a long time and were often together. Everyone thought they would get married, but it did not happen.
She had been married to Scott for two years when she heard those words.
Olivia looked at Naomi’s calm face and smiled as she usually would. “How can I not worry about it? Sasha is Leah’s only daughter. Saving Sasha is like saving Leah’s family.
“Leah is currently unable to thank you on her way back to the country, so Scott and I will represent Leah to express our gratitude to you. Both the Lawson and the Ward families are in deep gratitude toward you.
They were not foolish. Olivia repeatedly mentioned Scott, and her words and actions were all showcasing her relationship with Scott. It was hard not to notice, especially for Donna and Dean.
Donna smiled faintly, walked over, and stood in front of Naomi. “Well, thank you for coming to see Naomi, miss. We’re transferring to another hospital now, and time is tight, so we won’t talk much.”
Dean said, “Let’s go, Naomi.”
He came to Naomi and led her away.
Looking at the expressions of the elderly couple, Naomi sensed an underlying anger and knew that there were things she probably could not keep hidden anymore.
“Alright.”
