Chapter 1739
Chapter 1739
Desmond's behavior was in fact more like those of the kids which Tina generally saw in the Pediatric Department. He tried to show off his office and personal features in front of her, yet somewhat in a childish manner. When he failed to achieve his goal, he immediately became discouraged.
Tina found Desmond's behavior both funny and annoying
The lunchbox was placed on the edge of the office table, and it had already been cleaned.
Tina asked casually, "How's the porridge tasted?"
"En..." Desmond nodded slowly, but inside his heart, he was cursing his hateful cousin Wilson Chin.
On the Mid- Autumn Festival, he deliberately showed off the porridge in front of Wilson, but the porridge was hit by Wilson's hand and poured down onto the floor. Desmond didn't have any chance to taste the porridge, not even a spoonful of it. As the saying goes, "Go for wool and come home shorn". Desmond regretted bringing the porridge to his hateful cousin's home. He thought that he should have eaten some in advance.
Tina picked up the lunchbox and about to leave. "Desmond, you can continue with your work. I'll go first!"
Desmond tried to stop her. "Don't go, Tina. Wait for me for a while. I'll soon be done with the remaining work. I'll drive you back home!"
"No, thank you!" Tina said.
It would be convenient for her to hail a taxi outside of the office building.
Desmond insisted that she must wait for him. He said with absolute certainty, "How can that be? It was me who invited you to come over here. It's very late at night. You're just a young lady. What if something bad happens? Two days ago I read in the newspaper that a young woman was robbed and r*ped by a taxi driver..."
The corners of Tina's mouth twitched.
It was not ten o'clock yet. How could it be called "very late at night"?
But in the end, Tina was still held back by Desmond. She had to wait for him to finish his work, and then give her a ride.
Adam's office, apart from being high- profile and flamboyant, was rather practical in its usage. In the corner next to the couch, there was a rather largesized high-tech massage chair.
The massage chair had a leather surface, and it boasted 180 degrees of suspension in midair, which was comfortable to everybody.
Tina took off her shoes and sat on the massage chair. Her body was then completely wrapped up by it.
In order to better kill her time, Tina turned on the switch of massing function. Not long afterward, she felt a little sleepy, perhaps because the massaging process was so comfortable.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw that there was the magnified face of a man in front of her.
Desmond was carrying a small blanket in his hand, as if he wanted to cover it on her body. When he noticed that she had woken up, the corners of his mouth twitched. "Tina, are you a pig? How can you fall asleep while using the massaging chair!"
Tina was embarrassed. "Ahem... Are you done with your work?"
Desmond flicked the curly hair over his forehead. "Yes, let's go now. I'll drive you home with my sports car!"
Tina nodded, put on her shoes, and left the office with him.
It was about 22:30 p.m. now, and the night had grown darker. At the same time, the neon lights of the city had become more brilliant and dazzling.
There were still many people walking to and fro in the office building.
Tina and Desmond reached the first floor by elevator.
As they passed through the lobby, two figures came out of the elevator on the other side of the lobby.
One of the men was especially tall and strong. He was dressed in a black suit, and wearing a pair of platinum- gilded glasses, which made him look gentle and elegant, yet it was undeniable that he must be a man of power and determination
The two men were none other than Wilson and Terry.
As the four of them were all heading in the direction of the entrance, it was inevitable for them to bump into each other.
Desmond's tone was mischievous. "Brother Wilson!"
Wilson replied indifferently, "You haven't come back home so late?"
Tonight, he was accompanied by Terry and came over here to meet a client. The meeting ended relatively late, and that's why the two of them appeared in the lobby at this time.
In front of his cousin, Desmond didn't want to let go of any chance of provocation. "Of course... Do you think you're the only one who has to attend to a great many business projects every day?!!"
Wilson ignored Desmond's provocation. He turned to look at Tina, who was standing next to Desmond.
His eyes narrowed, revealing a hint of coldness. "Tina, why are you here?"
Before Tina could reply, Desmond acted like a little dog trying to protect its food and replied on behalf of her. "Tina came over here to accompany me to work overtime. I'm going to drive her home now!"
Of course, his tone was full of pride and provocation.
Wilson said in a low and cold voice, "Do you want to try her service?"
It sounded a little irritating to the ears of others.
In other words, Wilson was indirectly suggesting that Tina was selling her service to him before.
Tina's face stiffened slightly.
When Desmond saw this, he stiffened his neck and retorted, "Wilson, It is none of your business!"
Wilson looked away from Tina. He then sneered and said, "I don't care. Don't waste your time. She is just a she-wolf that can't be fed!"
Tina clenched her fists tightly.
Wilson strode away with Terry.
A cool and fashionable sports car was moving forward in the night.
The car speed was indeed not high, and the night breeze blew on Tina's face, making her feel comfortable and refreshed.
Tina said apologetically, "Desmond, I'm sorry for that. It's all my fault. Wilson shouldn't be so rude to you just now!"
Desmond shrugged his shoulders. He didn't seem to care about it.
He then complained, "Now you finally notice Wilson's arrogance and prejudice. I have already said that he is a hypocrite. Don't waste your time on him!"
Tina lowered her head silently.
Desmond paused for a moment and glanced at her. "Tina, are you still missing Wilson?" "No!" Tina denied it.
Desmond added, "When you were sleeping on the massaging chair, I heard you calling his name!"
Tina was petrified.
She slowly pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "He is already Miss Amery's fiance!"
Desmond rubbed his chin and pondered.
In fact, he was playing an important role in the Chin's Group. For this reason, he had noticed something special in the marriage between the Chin family and the Amery family. In short, the marriage was not as simple as it appeared to be.
Desmond hesitated for approximately two seconds. He wanted to tell Tina something, but in the end, he didn't say it.
After all, he wasn't sure about it. Although he was a flamboyant young man, he wouldn't say anything which wasn't supported by solid evidence.
In addition to this reason, he also had some other motives for the sake of his own benefits.
Desmond held the steering wheel. "Wilson is not as good as you think he is. It's true... He looks like a gentleman, but in fact, he is fond of trickery and tactics. He is an extremely bad guy! As the saying goes, If you're determined to leave the sea of bitterness, you will return to the shore of salvation. The farther away you are from Wilson, the better!"
Once Desmond began his nagging, it was impossible to stop him.
In the end, he became thirsty because he had talked too much. If anyone gave him a cup of water now, Desmond would be able to talk for three days and three nights!
Desmond coughed. "In this world, we not only can find a crooked tree like Wilson, but also have the entire forest to choose from! As long as you spend more time and energy, you will always be able to find new trees which are good and faithful. Moreover, Wilson is not the only man of the Chin family. Why don't you look around and look at me..."
Realizing that he might have said something too frankly, Desmond clenched his hands on the steering wheel.

Looking at the neon lights in front of him, he took deep breath for a number of times.
Finally, Desmond touched the curly hair over his forehead and opened his mouth as if he was a warrior who was ready to die on the battlefield, hesitating and faltering, "Tina, actually... I have fallen in love with you!"
After he finished the last word, his cheeks suddenly blushed.
It had been a long time since Desmond had sincerely confessed his love to a girl in this manner.
When he was a teenager, he used to earnestly pursue Abby Amery, who later on chose Wilson as her boyfriend. It was such a heavy mental blow to Desmond whenever he saw the intimate behaviors of Wilson and Abby. Over the years, Desmond had flirted with a great many girls, but he had never devoted himself wholeheartedly to the relationship with any one of these girls.
He didn't really have a crush on them.
It was for this reason that, at first, Desmond didn't realize that his affection for Tina was true.
In the beginning, his goal was simple: To make trouble to Wilson, to take away the latter's secret mistress, and to become the new benefactor of Tina.
