Chapter 1478

“Where have you been?” Lucia asked.

“I was overseas.”

“So nothing happened, and you just left. Are you back with Anthony?” Lucia questioned worriedly.

Anne knew that Lucia was not concerned for her safety and asked, “What are you trying to say?”

“I would be upset if you come back to get back together with Anthony. In your absence for the past two years, I’ve been by Anthony’s side, and many people know me as his woman. I’ve fallen deeply in love with him, so will you accept this, Anne?” Lucia said gloomily.

Though Anne had guessed as much when Lucia addressed Anthony by his first name, she was still shocked to find out that Lucia was seeing Anthony. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

“You two are… together?” Anne muttered bitterly, her chest hurting as though her heart had been dropped into a pool of acid.

“Yeah, shortly after you left,” Lucia said. She ignored Anne’s silence and pale face to grab her by the hand. “Anne, you will approve of us, right?”

“That’s between the two of you. You don’t need my approval.”

Overjoyed, Lucia chirped, “That’s great. I was planning to leave if you get back together with Anthony. We have been good friends, and I didn’t want to put you into that kind of situation.”

“If that’s all, I’m going home now,” Anne said.

“Are you staying with Anthony?” Lucia asked hastily.

“No.” Anne turned to leave.

As soon as she turned around, the friendly smile on Lucia’s face faded. She had appeared before Anne on purpose, waiting for a chance to inform Anne about her and Anthony.

She knew that Anne would leave. Lucia had hoped that Anne would understand that once two people went their separate ways, it was impossible for their paths to cross again.

Anne did not know how long she had been walking and only stopped when she reached a

dead-end.

She had not expected Anthony to be with Lucia, a friend of hers in the past.

Naturally, who Anthony saw had nothing to do with her, and even if he was dating her friend, Anne had no part in questioning his decision.

She was in no place to do so as she never meant anything to Anthony, to begin with.

She took out her phone hesitantly and dialed Anthony’s number.

He picked up right away. “Hm? What is it? Are we going to pick up the kids together?”

“No. I told you that I need to head back,” Anne said on purpose, hinting that she no longer belonged to this country and her true home lay elsewhere.

Silence took over them, and Anne could sense the tension on Antony’s end.

She did not want to face him or his emotions and was about to hang up when Anthony said, “When are you leaving?”

“Right now.”

“I will get the ticket for you.”

“It’s fine…”

“Why?” Anthony asked hastily.

Not wanting to get into a meaningless argument, Anne agreed. “Alright, then.”

Anthony tossed his phone onto the desk with a dark expression and sat stiffly
