Kids get tongue-tied and don't know what to say and what not to say, let alone what is a threat.
-Daniel, come here," Pearl half crouched down and spoke to the little boy.
Daniel looked at the woman in front of him, fear in his eyes, wondering what Perla wanted to do to him.
-If you have something to say, say it," Daniel said, keeping his distance.
Perla immediately perceived a slight expression of concern in his eyes.
She was filled with pleasure to see Daniel somewhat intimidated by herself.
-Are you that afraid of me? -Perla asked the little girl.
Daniel shook his head and said with a serious face.
-You're talking nonsense, I'm not afraid of you.
Why should I be afraid of Perla? It doesn't make any sense.
-You don't have to be afraid of me, in fact I like you as much as your grandfather," Perla put on a good
face, trying to make Daniel trust him.
Daniel will be too skeptical to insist on it.
-No more talk, I'm leaving.
Daniel doesn't want to waste time and wants to save it to have more fun.
After all, Mariana had only given him half an hour, and Perla had delayed him by at least five minutes.
Perla felt helpless as she saw the little boy panic a little.
-What are you going to do here? Did your mother really let you go out alone?
Naturally, Perla was a bit perplexed by such a phenomenon.
Didn't Mariana love this child with all her heart?
It's a little unbelievable that Daniel would be so relieved to be left alone to enjoy himself.
Daniel looked at the woman, not wanting to say another word to the other man.
-Mom told me she had to be back in half an hour, and I won't have time to talk to you for a while.
With a few words, Daniel headed in the direction of the elevator.
In his impressionable mind, Perla was not friendly with him.
Or maybe Juan is Daniel's real grandfather, but Perla?
There are some relationships she can't make sense of, but a child's intuition can't be wrong.
-Well, then go play, and be careful," Perla had no intention of holding young Daniel back and spoke
bluntly.
The little boy is restless and feels spoiled by Mariana.
Daniel moved on without even looking at Perla and entered the spot.
-It's a great opportunity, you can't let it slip away," Perla murmured as she looked in the direction Daniel
had left.
There was something in her heart that didn't make her happy to let Daniel go like this.
After a moment's hesitation, Perla returned to the living room. She looked grave, as if she were
weighing something.
-Aunt Perla, who did you meet outside?
Diana could faintly hear Perla talking to someone on the other side of the door, but she couldn't quite
make out the contents.
Only to see the woman reflect for a moment and look at Diana on the bed.
-Daniel Ortiz.
She told the other woman without even thinking about it, and Diana was naturally surprised to hear this
response.
-Did he go out alone?
Mariana's heart is too big too, how can such a little girl be lost from the sight of adults?
Perla nodded, also feeling a bit incredulous, it wasn't exactly Mariana's style to do things.
But really, Daniel isn't that young if we're talking.
I guess she was a little suffocated after being in the room too long, so Mariana let the kids out to play.
Also, the hospital is very large and there are surveillance cameras everywhere, so it's unlikely that the
baby will get lost.
-Aunt Perla, do you have something in mind? -Diana asked boldly, looking at the woman.
Having spent so much time with the woman, she knew more or less how the other did things. How
could Perla miss a good opportunity in this situation?
-The idea is there, but it seems a bit risky to me," Perla walked in the direction of the lookout and
looked down.
Only to see that Daniel had already found his little friend in the backyard of the hospital, playing in the
sand pit.
That window also overlooked Juan's ward window, above, so Mariana could see her son. There was
only one way to get to the garden below, so it wasn't easy to do anything about it.
-How's that for an adventure? -Diana was suddenly interested.
Perla thought about it for a moment before asking.
-Do you want to see a good show?
Mariana had just been a bit of an asshole, but now they were getting even.
-Of course I do.
Diana's eyes were full of eagerness and great anticipation. There was no telling what the other man
had in mind, and besides, now that he was in bed, there was no way Perla would let him make his
move again.
But listening to Perla, he must have had some plan in mind.
-Then you'll have a good time sitting in the hospital bed watching this great show," Perla looked at
Diana and took the floor.
The play is absolutely wonderful.
Mariana stood by the window watching her son and felt a little calmer. Even as she allowed her son a
brief moment of leisure, she dared not let her guard down.
Within her line of sight, Daniel is free to move.
-Can you see Daniel? -Juan asked with concern as he looked at Mariana.
If it were up to him, he wouldn't accept Daniel leaving on his own. But Daniel is getting older and
growing every day, and it's impossible not to deal with children.
On the other hand, it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
-You can see him right there, I'll take your picture," Mariana answered softly and then took a picture of
her son.
Juan was relieved to see that Mariana was so sensible.
-Come on daddy, look.
She had to pass the phone to Juan and couldn't resist talking.
Juan can't contain his smile as he looks at the picture of his grandson on his cell phone. The mere
sight of little Daniel makes him feel much better.
-Leopoldo, you come and see your son too.
Juan felt a sense of pleasure as he looked at the photo of his grandson, who looked exactly like
Leopoldo as a child.
Leopoldo's eyes fell on his own phone, unable to insist on his interest.
The son is downstairs, it's not like he's in some foreign country out of sight. And people had just come
downstairs to part, and it was just under ten minutes.
-No, you guys can watch," Leopoldo, totally focused on his work, spoke coldly.
Juan was not surprised by his son's attitude and found nothing strange.
-How are his grades at school?
It has only now occurred to Juan to ask about his grandson's schooling.
Anyway, as far as he remembers, Leopoldo never dropped below first place when he was in school.
Mariana hesitated for a moment, not knowing how to answer Juan's question.
