Chapter 504: Back to the beginning
Emily looked at her father and unconsciously tensed.
-Dad, what happened?
Gabriel looked at her and sighed slightly.
-Leopoldo came and took Mariana away.
-What was Mariana doing here?
Emily didn't know what was going on. She did know the reason Leopoldo came, but she didn't
understand why Mariana was here as well.
Gabriel looked at the woman and didn't answer.
-Dad, does she know?
Emily was aware that Gabriel had done something in Mariana's store for her own good. Because of this
affair, Mariana must be too busy as well.
However, she did not expect her to discover Gabriel so quickly.
-This woman is far from simple," Gabriel looked at his daughter and warned her. Even he had been on
the verge of making a mistake and getting himself into a situation from which he would never recover.
If he had known that Leopoldo was coming, Gabriel would not have done something like this today.
-Dad, what can he do even if he knows? He doesn't have Leopoldo's backing now, unless? -Emily said,
realizing something was wrong.
"No, Leopoldo was here too."
-Dad, Leopoldo took her?
Emily was taken aback and looked at the man with reluctance and disbelief. She had managed to learn
that the two had broken off their relationship, but now she was back to where she had been in the
beginning.
Without waiting for Gabriel's response, Emily received a message from her driver.
-Ms. Velazquez, Mr. Duran took you to the car and we are now on our way home.
The driver's message made Emily's head spin.
"That's odd - hadn't the relationship broken up? How did it all end up like this in the end?"
Seeing the message on her phone, Emily couldn't help but laugh.
"This Mariana is a bitch with a dark soul."
-Dad, what exactly did you do to Mariana?
Emily was a little broken inside, and she asked the man back.
What had Gabriel done to make Leopoldo so angry and nervous that he hugged the woman and left?
The two had broken up, but now they were reconciling.
-I didn't do anything," Gabriel said coldly as he looked at his daughter.
-If you didn't do anything, why did Brother Leopold carry her? Doesn't she have legs of her own?
Emily knew exactly what Gabriel was like and knew very well what the reason might be.
Still, there were things that could not be said between father and daughter.
-Emily, do you distrust your father that much? -Gabriel looked at his daughter sullenly.
Emily returned his gaze and left the office with a snort.
In the car.
Mariana slowly recovered and said in a low voice:
-Take me home.
It was time for me to go back. Little Daniel had been entrusted to Noe's care and could not be disturbed
for too long.
-Are you sure he's all right? -Leopoldo looked at the woman and said softly.
Mariana slowly sat up and a pleasant smile came over her face.
-I'm really fine.
She rarely smiled like that, and Leopoldo felt very lucky to see her.
-Go to Miss Ortiz's house.
Leopoldo opted to follow Mariana's wishes and prepared to send the woman home.
Mariana unconsciously adjusted her position so that she could keep her distance from the man. Seeing
the woman's intention to avoid him, Leopoldo did not force her, but let her do as she wished.
Looking more closely at the woman, Leopoldo finally could not contain himself and asked:
-Mariana, are you in some kind of trouble?
From the looks of her, it seemed she was in trouble.
-Yes, Gabriel has caused me trouble -Mariana didn't even think about it and spoke directly.
Leopoldo looked at the woman with more than a little contempt in his eyes.
-When did you and Gabriel ever have a problem? Besides, isn't it normal for neither of you to get NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
together when something like this happens?
-I don't have one with him, but I do with his daughter," Mariana looked at the other party and said dryly.
Her insinuation clearly meant that this affair was due to Leopoldo. If it were not for him, so many
problems would not have arisen.
Leopoldo looked at the woman and immediately understood what she meant.
-Emily, it's my fault again.
In the end, it was still true what Noe said, the person who unties the bell still has to tie it. Leopoldo still
needed to intervene and clear things up with Emily's dispute.
Otherwise, Mariana would be in a lot of trouble.
Mariana's eyes fell on the man and she said with some difficulty:
-Can I ask you a favor?
Leopoldo looked at her and naturally agreed.
-If there is something you need help with, you can say so. There is no need to be polite.
The man looked at the woman with more than a little bitterness in his heart.
There was still something more to the relationship between him and Mariana.
-I hope you can help me explain to Emily that there is nothing between us. It's true that there used to
be, but there won't be anymore.
Mariana's gaze was firm, she was clearly determined.
But the thought was hers alone, not Leopoldo's.
-That's what you want, but I don't," Leopoldo replied coldly.
He and Mariana had feelings before, and they would have them later.
He had thought of letting it go before, but no one could lie to his heart. He liked Mariana, that was an
undeniable fact.
-Leopoldo, if you do this, you'll make me ashamed.
Leopoldo looked at her and said coldly:
-You have always embarrassed me.
She had never given him a chance. Although he had come closer and closer, this woman constantly
backed away. Mariana had no one else to love, so why couldn't she accept Leopoldo?
What part of Leopoldo wasn't good enough for her?
-Drive to the house," Leopoldo continued coldly.
The driver was stunned, his eyes full of confusion.
-Señor Durán, do you mean Miss Ortiz's house?
After all this talk, the driver was confused by Leopoldo and grabbed the steering wheel, very puzzled.
-Stop the car.
The driver thought he had talked too much, or was too stupid, and that was why Leopoldo had asked
him to stop the car. But he dared not drive on and pulled the car firmly to the side of the road, unsure of
what to do.
-Leopoldo looked at the driver and spoke coldly.
The driver was stunned and pointed to himself.
-Me?
Leopoldo looked at the other party indifferently, with no change of emotion on his face. Finally, the
driver opened the door and stepped straight out of the car.
-What are you doing? -Mariana looked at Leopoldo, really puzzled.
When the driver got out of the car, Leopoldo followed him, opened the car door and went straight to the
driver's seat. Then he buckled his seat belt calmly and coolly. His eyes were calm and unmistakable.
-Leopoldo, what exactly do you want to do? -Mariana looked at the man in disbelief.
