Chapter 16
Chapter 16 She's Not Bad
Olivia drove to the Hilton Hotel to pick her up.
As soon as they entered, she sniffed around like a police dog.
Emily chuckled, "What are you sniffing for?"
"I'm sniffing out the scent of a scumbag," Olivia said seriously as she sniffed from the living room to the bedroom, nodding in satisfaction. "It seems Mr. Satan is a good man. I trust him with you." Emily laughed, "You can tell he's a good man just by his smell? That's impressive!"
Olivia proudly puffed out her chest, "Let me tell you, scumbags always have one characteristic-they carry the scent of other women. Whether it's the smell of makeup or perfume, I can sniff it out. You, I know you the best. Even though you used to be a makeup artist, you rarely use makeup. So, I can easily tell whether Mr. Satan has had close contact with other women."
Emily nodded after hearing this; it made some sense.
"Hey, Emily, do you want a job?"
Of course, she did.
But she didn't have a college degree or any special skills. Finding a job wasn't easy, and she also had to go to the hospital at noon to bring lunch to her father. It wasn't easy to balance regular working hours with that. Olivia patted her chest, "Leave it to me; if there's a suitable opportunity, I'll call you."
At dusk, Olivia took Emily to the beach.
She said, "There's a party on a yacht today, and almost all the wealthy people in New York City will be there. You can meet more people and make friends. Maybe you'll even find out who Mr. Satan really is." The first half of Olivia's words didn't interest Emily at all, but the second half firmly grasped her heart.
According to Olivia, today's party was hosted by a very prestigious but mysterious billionaire. He invited almost all the business tycoons and political celebrities in New York City. Mr. Satan was very likely to be among the invited, and attending such a party, he couldn't possibly wear a mask again; he must show his true face.
Emily was a little nervous; her palms were sweaty.
She didn't intend to pry into Mr. Satan's privacy; she just really wanted to know who the person she slept with every night really was.
More importantly, she wanted to know if he was single.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
She was someone who's been hurt before, so she didn't want to ruin anyone else's feelings.
Olivia put a pair of sunglasses on her. The lenses were large, covering almost half of her face, making her look more delicate.
Before coming, Olivia also took her to do her hair and makeup, bought her an evening gown. The current Emily was completely different from her usual self; she was almost unrecognizable.
"You look so different now; I almost didn't recognize you," Olivia said with satisfaction as she looked at Emily and adjusted her bangs. "Emily, you should dress up more; you look really beautiful when you do." Emily felt a little embarrassed, "Olivia, thank you."
Olivia showed the invitation to the doorman and successfully boarded the yacht with Emily.
There were food and drinks arranged in the middle of the deck, but few people came to take them; most of them were gathered in small groups chatting.
This was a good opportunity for business cooperation. In the business world, everyone was smart, and no one would waste an opportunity on food.
"Shit, why is he here too?"
Following Olivia's gaze, Emily looked over and froze.
Not far away, Nathan was holding Sophia's hand, carefully helping her sit down, protecting her with his body, holding her tightly in his arms, afraid that someone would bump into her belly. Sophia smiled sweetly, saying something to him, and Nathan's face also showed a smile.
"These two are really shameless. Nathan actually dares to bring his mistress to this kind of party openly? Damn it, if I don't teach these two bastards a lesson today, I won't be able to vent the anger in my heart!" Emily hesitated for a moment, wanting to stop Olivia but it was too late; she had already rushed over.
Olivia's temper was like a powder keg; she pointed directly at Nathan's nose and cursed at him, speaking harshly and quickly. Many people heard the commotion, and soon they were surrounded by a crowd. Emily hurried to catch up.
As soon as they separated from the crowd and went in, Emily heard Sophia shouting loudly, "Nathan, you're such a fool! Do you know how shameless this woman next to you is? Emily doesn't have blocked fallopian tubes at all; she bribed the doctor to frame Emily!" Nathan, being a CEO, couldn't lose his temper here due to face; he could only grit his teeth and say coldly, "Olivia, do you have any evidence? Sophia is Emily's cousin; she has always cared about Emily. How could she do such a thing?"
"Do you believe whatever Sophia says? You want evidence, right? Fine, I'll show you evidence!"
With that, she found the surveillance video on her phone and flipped the screen to face Nathan's face. "Take a good look! The woman you love and protect bribed an obstetrician-gynecologist and deliberately gave Emily a diagnosis of infertility!" "You're talking nonsense!" Sophia bit her lip, tears almost falling from her eyes. "Nathan, you know this doctor; she's the one who did my prenatal check-ups. She's an old friend of my mom's, and she's been taking special care of me since I got pregnant. I just wanted to thank her. I didn't know Mom would go to her the next day for Emily's check-up..."
"Your acting skills have improved again! Sophia, do you have no conscience? How did Emily treat you before? She treated you like family, helped you find a job, but you seduced her husband?"
"That's enough!" Nathan protected Sophia behind him, his face full of hostility. "Did Emily send you to bully Sophia? Go back and tell her that Sophia is not what she thinks."
Olivia wanted to say more, but Emily had already grabbed her hand. "Olivia, we're not worth getting angry with them; let's go."
"Emily..." Sophia called out to her, tears in her eyes, looking extremely aggrieved. "Don't blame Nathan; it's all my fault. I shouldn't have gotten pregnant with his child, ah-" Sophia screamed in pain, covering her face, which was numb with pain, looking at Emily in disbelief.
"You hit me?"
Emily sneered and raised her hand, giving her another hard slap.
Smack-
"These two slaps, the first slap is for my dad; you deliberately angered my dad and caused his heart attack! The second slap is for your shamelessness, scheming to seduce your sister's husband!"
