Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 16 Ares POV

It was about 10 minutes to 7 and Zeus and I were currently on edge as we silently waited for Eros and the others to appear. 'What's taking so long?' I grumble to Zeus as my eyes move to look at my watch, a silver rolex sitting all nice and neat against my wrist while my silk navy blue top, black dress pants and black shoes completed the look, my hair brushed and combined with only a little bit of gel to help hold it back. Relax, they all know dinner is at 7pm' answers Zeus who was also trying to relax because after tonight we would be able to find our mate once and for all. 'Well they're cutting it close' I say, just as they all decide to show up.

"Finally" I say, looking at the others as I carefully notice Seth who was dressed in a red silk shirt, black pants and black shoes while Emma wore a silk red dress and silver strappy heels, her hair up as light makeup adorned her face. "Sorry, but somebody had wardrobe malfunction" remarks Sam as my eyes move to see him. dressed in a rich silk green shirt, black pants and black shoes while Emily wore a similar style to Emma except in green as well, both in which I found both cute yet amusing as my attention moves to that of Kai and Lucas.

"Sure blame the wardrobe" growls Kai, who had decided that instead of wearing silk had opted to wear a teal satin shirt with black pants and black shoes while Lucas opted to wear a light blue satin shirt with matching black pants and black shoes just as they all moved to head for the door. "Wait, where's Eros?" I question when I have yet to see my brother appear.

"Still inside his room I think" answers Emma who wasn't exactly sure.

"Why?" I ask.

"Beats us, look how about you go ask and we'll go find a table for all of us, okay?" remarks Seth who moves to lead the group out of the room, leaving just me inside the room. Sighing I move towards his door. "Eros?" I call hoping he would hear me from his room.

"Give me a second" is all I hear as it would seem that Eros had been struggling with himself.

Everything okay? The others have already gone on without us, so we need to hurry if we want to be there on time" I tell him, just as I stood outside his bedroom door.

"I said, give me a minute" shouts Eros just as he yanks open the door his shirt a little ruffled as if he had been struggling with it only to finally get it set in place. "Are you sure?" I ask, trying hard to be nice as my eyes move to do a once over knowing he must be feeling scared as well.

"Yeah I'm sure" mutters Eros as he straightens his shirt once more, his silver satin shirt paired with black slacks and black shoes, his own watch sitting nicely against his wrist as he now stood of me.

""What? Are you sure?' I I quickly ask, hoping he was right as my eyes continued to watch as the Alpha, Luna and their son all move to sit only to be followed by the Beta, Gamma and Delta and there family which consisted of three boy and one girl in which the girl began to look uncomfortable as the other girl clung to the Alpha's son. "Hey is everything okay?" whispers Sam, as he leans across the table when he takes notice of my silence which snaps me from my mind. "Ya" I whisper back, not wanting to draw attention to our table.

"Then what's wrong?" asks Sam again.

I say, hoping it would be enough.

"What?!" asks Seth, ie who had heard us during our conversation. "What about him? Does he

"Mate" whispers Eros, who had obviously seen the girl as well.

"Your kidding" whispers Kai, as our whole table now had their attention trained on both Eros and I as if seeking more information.

"No, unfortunately we're not... that girl dressed in royal blue, the one sitting with the Alpha, she's our mate, the one the Moon Goddess has blessed us with" I say, just as the Alpha moves to stand. "Welcome honorable guests, it's with our greatest pride that we welcome you here tonight, as this year it's the Moon Walker's turn to host the yearly Mating Ball, as we hope that the twelve packs. that have gathered here tonight are able to find their mates as those did before them." speaks the Alpha, as he moves to address everyone who was there. "Tonight, we feast as we celebrate the Moon Goddess, the one who has blessed us with mates for as tomorrow we dance to celebrate the union of those who have successfully found their mate, but for now let's eat as tomorrow is another day."

And so, with that said from the Alpha, the Alpha moves to sit back down just as servers begin to bring out the food, each table being served appetizers to start. "What sort of food is this?" whispers Lucas who had never seen anything like that before, making

Kai laugh.

"Try it, you might like it" says Kai, moving to hold it out for Lucas to try who only hesitates more before finally giving in to try it.

"It's not bad" is all Lucas says, the rest of the group moving to try the appetizers as well, each of us thinking along the same line, that it was just okay and nothing more.

When appetizers are done, the waiters slowly return to take away the empty plates while others come around to ask if you would like the Chicken, the Beef or the Seafood meal, in which Lopt-for

the chicken.

"The Chicken please" I say, just as they move to carefully place the food down in front of me, the others either taking the Beef or the Chicken as well except Eros, as Eros had decided on the Seafood just so he could be different.

Once served, everyone moves to try his or her meal as voices could be heard from all around the room, while my eyes continued to watch that of our mate her body tense as the girl in front of her continued to do whatever it was she was doing with the Alpha's son while unaware that the Beta's son was also doing something to her. 3/4 Chapter 16

'Mate.. she's in distress' whines Zeus as he urges me to go to her as if sensing her fear.
